the game seems pretty big lol, a turn based combat system on top of the football gameplay + free roam areas. Wasnt expecting this at all, glad to see some developers actually try with anime titles instead of just putting out fighting arena slop

This is not the real battle system because the main character cannot play football in this part of the story due to his heart problems. In chapter 2 we will get the real battle system. They are 5 vs 5 mini football matches, mini versions of the big football matches

One correction though. Inazuma Eleven was a game franchise first, and then they made the anime out of it. So for anime games (guess aside from 2d fighting games), they will remain uninspired for the most part it seems...

As someone who has thousands of hours on the other Inazuma Eleven games, I’m really happy with the world they managed to create here and I love the new additions, the battle system is fun (but will probably be changed when football is no longer prohibited and we’ll have the typical 5v5 battles) and the side quests are great for content but I hope they do more than just, go here, talk to this person and report back. Can’t wait for the next chapter of the story and the addition of chronicle mode

For those worried about the quickbattle being removed, I just checked Inazuma Eleven VR PV 3, they still had the quick battle but the ATB battle is just there just to fill the gap because Unmei cant play football, and the only team you got is just Joji lol

Yo this is what I was waiting for! I like the idea of football, but the competitive scene of any sports game freaks me out cause I'm never great at these games, so a sports game lives and dies with its story mode for me, and this one actually looks pretty cool! Toss in a few football matches here and there against AI and it looks great!

The mc cant even play football and Bloomhurst only accepted football again at the end of the demo. I dont know what you expected from the game when in the school football is forbidden for now and the main mc hate football so cus he cant even play it- the game will get to the football aspect but character writing and story has to start somewhere. I dont mind the turn based system cus it makes the game more diverse but the rewards it provides is not justyfing the encounters.

It’s normal for Inazuma to give characters new names in dubs. In his case they tried to keep the same meaning which was why they went with Destin(y) Billows

Those battles really just didn’t feel fun, more like huge wastes of time where winning doesn’t even feel satisfying. But the amount of anime cutscenes was great, just a distinct lack of football in their football game. Even if it makes in-story sense, it’s… just not very fun compared to what we had before. Maybe more party members will fix it, but can’t know for sure yet.

i mean it's the first chapter it's just an introduction to the world and a few characters. Making a protagonist hate football then making him play just after doesn't make sense. but i agree that it doesn't need to take too long tho

@@Gojo-tl4rn See, if it was temporary, I’d be on board, or if they find a good balance with football gameplay, but seeing as there was the option for 6 party members to participate (which with the style of menu they have could get rather cumbersome) it seems this is going to be the main battle system outside of actual matches, and that really feels lame. Like I said, it makes in-story sense why, but… just hoping they make it a bit snappier or just rethink it altogether. At least the gameplay during matches seems to be great from this beta, so it’s not all bad, and if they manage to balance it out, It could be fine. For example, Globku implied that this Endo character will be a sort of ‘second protag’ so maybe we have standard football matches there instead of the new rpg system, so in that case I’d be okay with that.

So not only does this game have a great anime cutscenes it also has two protagonists one that can't play football I guess that he might end up being the coach of the team that they are going to form or he will be stupid enough to risk his life all for the love the game which is typical behavior number one for any inazuma eleven characters with the same terrible conditions (ichinose and taiyou) if you want to know who they are to those who watched only the dub look them up yourselfs and you will figure out what I taking about and the second one where the Endo bloodline continues yet again this story is shaping up to be hella fun it would be a shame if they don't make an anime for it after this

The other protagonist is called endou haru he is the son of endou mamoru who is the original protagonist from the first 3 games of inazuma eleven So his a very big deal Also incase you are wondering if you should know past lore before the game story the answer is probably not Since the game wont feature any past characters apperantly the only relevent thing to know is that the events of the first game happened 25 years before the game story

The anime are adaptations of the games, but Level-5 is quite hands on them and they have used the same animation studio for them all, OLW, so the animes end up pretty great since the anime teams really get the series and can expand on the characters a lot as there will be a lot more dialogue and voice acting in them, though this new one both has Mappa for the first time doing the animated cutscenes AND has a huge improvement in character personality, writing and development due to probably being a full blown modern console game while all previous were handheld games.
