I think you should reupload the video with a disclaimer. It's honestly just misinformation when you say the stuff you do in this video. It's okay that you don't know how stuff works yet. We all had to start somewhere. But if you're going to make a video about it, at least do a little bit of research. Like for the maypul pummel special, there's actually a really informative moveset breakdown made by the devs on Maypuls moveset that explains everything clearly, in a very short video. It would have been really easy, that once you notice that you don't quite understand something, to look it up, or ask someone. That daid, I'm glad you liked the game. I'm also really hyped for it. My response is a bit protective, but I would just find it really sad if people get turned away from this great game due to misinformation.

The maypul pummel is for example not misinformation, I just simply said I don't know. So far the only thing I've noticed was that I said the Parry is its own button and not a macro.

-Chain grabs don't work unless your opponent normal pummels. There's normally a grab lockout window that is removed if the opponent normal pummels, which can be broken by pressing the normal attack button (same as special pummel, but the regular attack button) -Parry is a macro in this game, not its own button! It's performed by holding shield and pressing special -Maypul's special pummel applies Poppy to the opponent. If you connect Maypul's NSpecial while Poppy is attached, they will be knocked back towards you I'm very excited to see more of this game from you! If you want some more tips, feel free to ask! I love getting more people interested in this series!

Thanks a lot! I didn't even know the parry was actually a macro. I was the whole time wondering why everybody can parry but I couldn't. Then I set it up in the controls and saw you could assign it. So I thought it was just me using a GCC and having to asign it manually. But it being a macro with shield + special was not on my radar.

You are correct about fleets down special having i frames! I tested that move out a few betas ago and while I don't remember the exact numbers, it has something like 3-4 less frames of invincibility than your regular dodges, which is why it's a lot harder to actually dodge things with it. While I still personally need to figure out how to better utilize the move myself, I found it usually works best as a way to avoid projectiles while off stage and quicker attacks like jabs on stage.

When I played, I played as Loxodont as my selected main. He gives me some serious Ganon/Ike vibes that I am 100% okay with, but he was also blessed with decent recovery. I also have to say that I like his magma mechanic tying in to so many other moves. The game itself has a great feel to it, the movement is smooth, attacks feel impactful. Honestly can't wait for Rivals of Aether 2 to fully release.

Hey Sillintor, that's cool you had a lot of fun playing Fleet in Rivals 2! My favorite character so far is Loxodont! Unfortunately for me, who is on the U.S. East coast, I was playing on Toronto servers I frequently had matches where my opponent would lag/teleport around the screen, and doubles was miserable too because of the lag. Sometimes the server would just bug out and would make my framerate go from a solid 60 to sub 30 fps. That's not to say I didn't have really good matches though! I don't really think this game is good for doubles, and some of these characters definitely need to be tuned! Kragg was absolutely broken along with Zetterburn. I hope the devs can work out the kinks with the servers for a smoother online experience.

If I remember correctly, the grab button in Smash is technically a macro, and the "normal" way to do it is by pressing Shield + Attack at the same time. I wonder if it works the same way in this game. If it does, maybe you could use Shield + Attack to grab so the Z button can be your Strong attacks again. I mean obviously it's not ideal, but it's just a thought I had.

You can only chaingrab if you can get a pummel off. Otherwise, a subsequent grab/command grab results in immediately breaking out. As the person who gets grab, you can press A or B to break the pummel if you guess correctly. There is counterplay, although its RPS Maypul's cotten lets Maypuls Neutral B projectile knock the opponent towards you for ping-pong combos. Sick as fuk. Her Neutral B normally has 0 knockback. They really need a moveset list or character guides like in RIvals 1 ASAP. Rivals 2 has too many mechanics and move cancels; a lot of them being character specific. I printed out a sheet listing most them when I go to locals. So people can get up to speed.

Good video! So Smash Bros is probably my favorite game franchise of all time, so I always assumed Rivals of Aether was merely "Great Value Smash Bros". However, I did give the first game a shot over the past year and really enjoyed it. This sequel already looks really good, so will definitely give the demo a try. It always baffles me that Nintendo is such a powerhouse in the gaming industry yet their online implementation for their own games is still just absolute garbage in this day and age.

Sadly it wont be for a while. It's only launching on PC for now. But they will work hard next year to see if they can get a console release, which will come with crossplay and rollback as well.

@mourliszoumarou657 Actually not true. The Multiversus devs havent optimized the game for a switch port (cuz the console is so bad). But nintendo hasnt really aquired the Warner Brothers rights to put the game on the switch either. But they've had multiple plat fighters on the switch. Brawlhalla, Brawlout, Rivals 1, nasb 1&2, slap city. They know how big smash is to be scared of another plat fighter. With that mentality they wouldnt have put temtem, a direct pokemon copy, on the switch.
