You know you're in the US when that $26 fixed price taxi ride ends up being $35 as they add on fees, taxes, tips... that drove me crazy visiting the US, you never know how much anything will actually cost.

As with near everything in the US there is no standardized VAT tax at the country level so the tax rate varies from state to state. Oregon has no sales tax, California has the highest at 7.25% but still none are close to the 20%+ VAT rates in Europe. But tipping, yeah that ones a killer.

10 times I’ve been to Vegas I love it and can’t think of a worse time to be there than now. It’s an absolute liberty what they’ve done with the bridges and stuff there. The amount of money they make during normal times and they’re still trying to squeeze every drop from people. When the F1 was first announced I thought about going for it, but they were wanting nearly 4 figures per night for most rooms. Now I’m getting emails offering me comp rooms for the whole weekend. They’ve slashed prices massively because they’re not getting the bookings they thought they would be. Hopefully they learn from that! Quality room there at the cosmo by the way, best hotel in vegas in my opinion.

I was really excited when you rolled vegas. I follow a lot of vegas channels and I was interested to see you checking out the F1 construction. But even more excited to see you go to a hockey game. Loving this series as I have been to most of these places - bringing back lots of memories! Unbeknown to you but you got to see the next big hockey star in his first NHL season at that game - Connor Bedard, Chicago's #98! He's already a pretty big deal as an 18 year old and is the next superstar player of the league! Think of Messi or Ronaldo but in hockey haha!
