But make it a true test. Both combines empty. With one swath between. Not only speed, but yield.often slowing up 1 mph can increase corn yield a lot. I have been on two larger operations. In 90s they had 4 case and one JD. Or visa versa. As most places have one guy who likes other brand. Plus they trade every 3 years. So sales guy can get worried. “Maybe they will go all JD next time”

Cole, Nailing the Draper head, a touch Reel Speed faster than ground speed and just ahead of the knife to keep the flow even and let the crop flow in sleeves for the knife to cut. Air reels just don’t have take up here, but would be interested to try in a small grains operation.

I would recommend you put a layer of wax on that trailer to reseal it.....we acid washed our trailer once. Looked great and then it got dirty again. Seemed like the acid left a rough etch on the trailer that made it impossible to scrub clean again. Only an acid bath got it clean and then we sealed it and threw the remaining acid away.

Decrease the hydro flex pressure and the cutter bar will “droop” into the valleys. Less hydro flex psi equals more flex but more ground pressure. more psi makes it more rigid but less ground pressure. Set #3 button for less psi. When you need more flex push 3. If it starts pushing up push 2. It will change psi on the fly.

It is hard to tell, but I hope when you are on the drapper the combine is turned off. One glitch in the head electrical system could start the head running and make for a very bad day. I am not familiar with combine safety features, but from my electrical experience I do not trust switches to act as they should 100% of the time.
