7:33 Yes they did. If ATC gives you: “RWY (#), taxi via (PARALLEL TAXIWAY)” The instruction implies to taxi full length and hold short at the last intersection. In this case ATC saying “RWY 33, taxi via A” would be sufficient. “…hold short RWY 33” is a redundant instruction since you already need to receive instruction from Tower to line up and wait on the active runway or be cleared for takeoff. The hold short instruction is used when you will be expected to cross a runway during your taxi, say to parking or to your departure runway. But in this situation you are not taxing across 33 to any parking and 33/15 is the only runway. Now if there was parallel runways like 33L and 33R, then an instruction like: “…RWY 33L, taxi via A, hold short RWY 33R” This would be an appropriate instruction. And you would be expected to taxi full length and hold short at RWY 33R at A9 until given instruction to cross.

At 8:00 most airports I've been to expect you to switch over to tower freq when ready to go at the hold short line, usually when the runup area is close to the runway. For airports that have runup areas at the ramp you call up ground before entering a movement area with runup complete to get a taxi clearance, when approaching the runway they then tell you to monitor tower freq. Example of the latter: KAPA

One tip of mine which helped me get confident on vatsim, if anyone interested. Don't fly IFR first. Fly VFR, possibly in your country. However I understand that some countries only have controllers over controlled airspaces. My country has a lot of uncontrolled airspaces, I used to fly a lot communicating with information (semi flight following). It gives you a little more freedom and space to make mistakes and after you got used to talking to people, got confident and proficient make small cross country IFR routes so you can get accustomed to the IFR routine.

If it was not pronounced as "Tree" some speakers may pronounce three with an "S" sound, making it difficult to discern from the letter "C". Five is also pronounced as "Fife". London is not proper ICAO pronunciation and you may be taken to task for improper radio communication after the fact. Source: I worked in military communications for a decade or so, and we had to learn the NATO phonetic alphabet which is basically identical to ICAO pronunciations, in order to be clearly heard over HF radio comms.

The real problem of MSFS physics is that the implementation of a decent model is left to the developer of the plane itself. And if you talk about PMDG / Fenix / indie devs such as FBW, then you’re looking at good flight models. But if you take, for example, the Bredok3D 737 MAX, well you’re just describing the epitome of a bad flight model. That’s the real issue about MSFS. X-Plane is a little better in this case, because the model is, in fact, tied with the 3D representation itself.

It’s a concept we’ve all been waiting for, especially for FIR’s or airports that often don’t have a controller online in VATSIM. Right now onbviously the lag for back end processing is an issue, and some other bugs. But if they can sort that out, implement full IFR (preferably with CPDLC:DCL, PDC, and full VHF data comms over ACARS, AIRINC, etc) I would def be interested

at 8:18 you said the software needed work because it didn't tell you to swap to tower. You are supposed to swap to tower on your own, the software had it right. It's only the reverse (tower to ground after landing) where you need to wait for them to issue the change. Don't take my word for it, it's in the AIM, too. Same thing with the taxi instruction, if the taxi route is Alpha, Alpha One, ATC doesn't need to include the Alpha One portion...it's implied to be full length. If they expected an intersection departure, they'd specify the intersection in the taxi instruction. What IS incorrect is the taxi phraseology itself, but I'm sure they can fix that.
