It always feels like it is either his turn or I’m in a spacing trap that he is able to yoink his turn back. I’m a scrub though and seemingly always pick the exact wrong time/option to try and play the game. Lol always end up dying in two to three combos depending if the Avatar wants to spend more hp or not.

Here's a fun little tip for you. His pressure is very honest. The only thing you really need to look out for is when he comes in for a throw to reset pressure. Or when he starts flying. The moment you see him flying during his pressure, use a dp if you have one. If you don't have one you can try jumping towards him while attacking. Wings is a very risky option for him to use during pressure. To the point where its hardly used in s+ and above because more often than not the moment they use it is the moment they die. So he had to rely on frame traps and strike/ throw

@@theHMCenthusiast Awesome, thanks for the tip! I know a lot of the time I let my opponents get away with murder. A part of what I've been doing to try to get better is employing stronger offense. I'm probably not playing the best character for my style. I hate running against Ferry so I don't want to put other people through that. haha I hope Bea is fun, I have her ringed on the gacha. Regardless I'll definitely look out for taking advantage of the wings and navigating his pressure better.

@@theHMCenthusiast I love zoning and playing neutral. I'm pretty alright when it comes to defense. I tried Uno, before the most recent gameplay patch, and it seemed like he had to work so hard for so little. Due to that I figure he is just to advanced for me. I have had the most fun in fighting games when I play characters like Sagat. Forcing the opponent to take an exploitable risk(usually jumping) and punishing it is so fun. My aggression has never truly been solid, so I generally spend most of the time in the corner when I play fighting games. haha I played against a few Avatars this morning and I was able cash in some punishes when they tried using his wings. Sometimes I was too slow and thus got blown up by the sweeping laser, but it is a learning process.

@@seasons2of1 ah. Whether it's two hits or one doesn't matter. I prefer to cancel into ex rekka the moment I feel a hit connect because sometimes I may improperly space it causing only the second hit to connect. So if I cancel as soon as possible then it won't matter which of the hits connect. And I don't feel like hit confirming whether it was 2 hits or 1. Its up to you to do whatever fits you best

Just wondering why do you do 236M > 8U instead of 236L > 8U in your combos? Seems like significantly less wall carry with the former. Great video btw!

1. Because I can't properly time delay 8u to save my ass 2. It's because I still get the corner carry I want regardless. I would only need more corner carry if I wasn't planning to cash out health to get to the wall anyways 3. 236m is important for 66h to combo consistently in the first combo I did. 236l would bring the opponent too close to the wall. 4. I just think it looks cool

Not to mention, Belial is considered High A tier by everyone, basically. A Belial is just that with better moves and health drain. He was also able to do TOD combos

Why certainly. The ability to combo is part of what makes a top tier. But that alone does not make a top tier. All avatar belial has going for him is his combos. And said combos come at the tiny cost of losing half your health for a little more damage than the average character. I won't deny that abel has some good tools here and there. But these tools and the reward he gets off of his interactions are simply not worth the risk most of the time. He is far too volatile. Even at high levels you see situations where avatar belial played perfectly the entire round and died to one interaction because of how squishy he is. No matter how you try to slice it. 14k hp with skills that cost 800hp per use in a game where almost everybody does big damage is terrible. His damage is literally the only thing he has. And it's just a little bit higher than the average damage of the cast. For more work. And more resources(a third of your health at best). Neutral? Not great. Pressure? Decent. Defense? Decent. None of these are "great" and you can't be a top tier without being great in some of these categories.

@lil_man_jess2251 belial is high tier yes. Avatar belial is low tier. The health loss is a huge factor but not the only one. Also abel can't do everything belial can do. Belial has better pressure. Better defense and better neutral. Abel only slightly wins in the damage department. And in that department he cannot get any reasonable combos or decent damage without losing quite a bit of his health. Abel was originally thought to be mid to high tier at the beginning of the game. But as time went on his placement became lower for two reasons. The first being that they discovered how much better and more consistent other characters were. The second being that they discovered how ass abel was. His health costs seem justified until you realise he's taking high risks for medium rewards in most situations. He already lacks survivability as it is. But those high risks force him to further kill his own survivability. And for what? Slightly better damage.

There's no special timing to it. You just gotta do it as soon as the ex fireball ends. NOTE That combo won't work unless there is sufficient spacing/ pushback. To the point where the 66h must be added at the beginning of the combo. If you start the combo with c.h or something similar you won't be able to do anything after the second 8u.

And I still think he's about mid, as a user of him as well. Alot of said master players also tend to kill themselves for the opponent or fumble towards to end. There's zero reason to do multiple *full* self damage combos if said combo won't actually or damn near kill the opponent. I put stuff like that on the same level as ferry wasting 100 meter on a SSBA/SBA when the opponent still has like 70% of their hp left.
