I Propose A Couple Of Changes To Pokemon Legends Going Forward

I have a couple of brief thoughts on what Pokemon Legends can improve upon in its sequel. This is not a comprehensive list, but are just my own personal thoughts after finishing Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Personally, I would like it if they brought multiple target attacks like surf and earthquake back so you have an option specifically for the 2-4 on 1 battles. I would also like it if positioning on the battlefield affected combat is, if an object is blocking the defending pokemon, then the accuracy of the attacking pokemon is lowered

I totally agree with the double battle comments you made Do you have any thoughts on the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A games?? Like a wish list or a think piece?

Good question! I hope they improve what they started with Arceus. Focus on double battles of some kind would be rad. I have always believed that Pokemon's primary appeal is the collecting aspect of it all, which Arceus lends itself really well to. I think focusing more on why you would need to collect duplicates is a great thing to innovate on in the future as well. It may never happen again, but a slightly darker storyline would be awesome, or at least something with an edge like Coliseum had. That art style alone was fairly gritty by Pokemon standards. But what do you think?

@EnGageJackson Double battles with Legends Arceus style gameplay sounds like a dream to me 🤩 I agree they should find a way to integrate the duplicates system into the game play a bit more, I think the Pokedex checklist was a good way to start but I believe something a bit further would be nice. I'm really curious how they're going to handle Legends Za taking place entirely Lumiose city, I feel like they could pull off something really cool if they utilize this sewer systems and alleyways as biomes where Pokemon spawn but we'll have to see. I think it would also be cool if they implemented some sort of bonding system apart from the odd friendship system we have in place currently, but I don't have any particular suggestions myself. I agree that I'd also love to see a darker story, I loved the more intense and mature directions lack and White went into and I'd love to see it be taken further in some way

@@keazone5154 Great ideas! It sounds like we enjoy very similar things about this franchise... I wonder how a more in depth bonding system could work in a Pokemon game. My mind wants to jump to examples from Fire Emblem or Persona, but obviously Pokemon do not talk, so that idea doesn't exactly fit. Maybe something of a similar feeling can be achieved. Maybe there is a trackable "friendship ranking" system (somewhat like Persona's 1-10 social links). Maybe that still doesn't fit, and I'm not sure how it would all blend together, but making it slow down battles like it has been for a while now would NOT be my preference. Battles need to continue on the path of making the battles faster.
