That rig looks like so much fun! I’d love to see more of the lake or streams where you always go. Maybe along the shoreline from tree to tree but mounted sideways to get a fast pan of the lake? I also like the idea of going from building to building through doors or windows like someone else mentioned 👌 Unlimited potential with that thing!

Rig a line from one building through an apartment in another building and out into a third building so it’s like you get a slice of life of the building in the middle like with people doing their daily activity.

Cool specialized bit of kit, but a lot of work. You'd probably want to rig it in multiple spots and you'd need a ladder to mount it higher up on a tree. Heavy duty combo stands from the film industry would probably also work in an environment with fewer mounting options and you can place them wherever you want and simply rise to a good height, but hauling 2 combo stands around is a lot of work.

The Wiral does have multiple ways of stopping it. First is you can set stop points on the controller. It works good for the normal speed mode but for some reason when you put it in the fast mode the way points will slide like 5 to 10 feet in any direction. That’s where the cable stops come in, I’m not sure if your wiral didn’t come with them but you put these about 5 feet from each end and the will derail the slider before it hits the tree.

Great video, thanks ! I was thinking of applying the WiralLite in an urban environment and also eliminate the need of finding trees or poles to tie it up on. My idea is that two people could climb on some elevated surfaces in the city and securely hold the two edges of the wire simultaneously with about 25m distance between them , while the camera runs. For the initial setup , one edge of the wire would be extended to pointB mounted on a 3m insta360 stick (through thread ring or clip) for the carry over, above any people or vehicles passing by. One of the two people would also remote control it to run on the wire in this case. What do you think ?

You could use a pool noodle (styrofoam float) as a 2 foot buffer on the ends of the wire by cutting a channel lengthwise and slipping it onto the ends during setup. The collision of the camera hitting the styrofoam at high speed would act as a cushion. Just a random suggestion.

That line won't do much damage to the bark but please consider using a flat strap on both ends. Maybe a dummy load might be good for pre checking the shot. Roughly the same size and weight. Chunk of wood about the same size as the camera and lens with pieces metal in it to give it about the same weight. I wouldn't put a huge effort into making it exact. more important to make a little bigger than exact size.
