Without Eddie distracting the Demobats would have invaded Hawkins, Eddie realized this and decided to act rather than run. To further connect this to “Running Up That Hill”, he literally swapped places with the entire town of Hawkins, literally and metaphorically ran up the hill(death) to save everyone.

Part of me thinks that's how Vecna knew what everyone was up to, sleeper agent style. Part of me thinks it will cause trauma visions, and similar to Billy in Max's visions, it will be Eddie in Dustin's.

I love this video, it does so many things right, but i feel the ending is too abrupt like the ending of the sopranos it just kind of cuts off, if you make a version too put the scene with eddie and dustan in at the end, the complete awesomeness of the music with this video but with the deeply touching notes at the end. there are a few times where you do a quick cut to black like a snap away and snap back, i feel like its not really needed AS MUCH but it is actually a good touch.
