This is the best review of the Narwal Freo on KZbin to date, so thank you for making this. A couple of side-notes for anyone interested (this information comes from being a Freo owner, and from being relatively active in the Narwal US and Narwal Global facebook groups: Reinforcing your statement: - Yes, the Narwal Freo uses a proprietary cleaning solution, but it really does last a LONG time. I'm 7 months in, running every couple of days, and STILL haven't gotten even 25% of the way down the bottle. 75%+ remaining is nice. - The Narwal Freo is SO QUIET. SOOOOOO QUIET. If you get one coming from a Roomba or a Roborock, prepare to be amazed! Additional Pros: - Narwal is working on multi-mapping capabilities. - You can buy a replacement brush roll that's anti-tangle ("NARWAL Freo Anti-Tangle Roller Brush" on Amazon), similar to the ones used on the Roomba and Roborock robotic vacuums. It's purple, rubber-ish, and works much better than the "hair-brush" style roller it comes with by default. The downside is that there's a slight increase in noise level, but the Freo is so quiet to begin with that the elevated noise level still pales in comparison to the amount of noise a Roomba makes. If you get the Freo Anti-Tangle brush roll, you must ALSO purchase the "Narwal Freo Anti-Tangle Roller Brush Bottom Cover" (on amazon). Getting them both will set you back about $45 USD + Tax and shipping. Coming from a Roomba i7 and having lots of pets and long-haired people in my home, I personally feel it's WELL worth it - The Narwal support team is very active in the facebook communities at helping people with any issues they encounter. - The Narwal team frequently does giveaways in the facebook communities. I've won twice since I bought in December: I won an entire accessories kit (TWO bottles of cleaning solution, 6 additional mopping pads, two sets of replacement side-arm brushes, one replacement brush roll, two replacement water filters, and two replacement air filters ($199)), and I won a an additional set of replacement mopping pads. Additional Cons: - The Narwal Freo does NOT have an auto-empty dust bin. This is probably a "wtf" moment for many, but the bin it carries is pretty good at not needing to be cleaned out all the time. I empty mine every 3-4 weeks running it every couple of days. For reference, it runs on the first floor of my home, with the floor being about 1500 sq feet and about 1000 sq feet of that is mopping space. We have 3 cats and 3 dogs, two of the cats and one of the dogs are medium-hair and they shed relatively often, especially in the summer. - The Freo's carpet cleaning is NOT as good as a high-end Roomba (sorry Narwal, but that's what you get when you sacrifice a bit of suction power for a MUCH quieter machine). Even with the Anti-Tangle brush-roll, it still doesn't clean medium- or high-pile carpet as well as my old Roomba i7+ Additional Info: - Narwal had a kit that was released in Asia that allowed you to direct-connect your Freo to your plumbing system, called the "Narwal Flow". It would automatically fill and drain your reservoirs as-needed. It has NOT been released outside of Asia, but the rumor mill, as stated by Team Narwal in the Narwal US forums, is that they're hoping to release it to the US "hopefully soon." Correction, I just checked their website and it's available on pre-sale at only $299 shop.narwal.com/products/narwal-automatic-water-exchange-system You can check if your home is compatible here: shop.narwal.com/pages/automatic-water-exchange-system Thank you for making this video :)

Determined is a good descriptor of the Freo, it seems to do a very good job with mopping but lacks a self empty bin for the vacuum so best use is in an area that has mostly hard floors. It’s crazy how gross the dirty water bin gets

@@Gaarax1981 you wouldn’t pick a favorite kid would you? We’ve got the Freo downstairs where it’s primarily LVT and gets a lot of traffic, the rotating brushes do well in that area. Upstairs we had been using the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra for the last year and switched over to the S8 for testing about a week ago. The roborocks have been great for getting dog hair since our corgi sheds a lot. The self empty bin is very important for that which the Freo unfortunately doesn’t have. So yeah, they both have different strengths and both are working great in our home so far. I haven’t put down any pudding or rice though :)

@AutomateYourLife Жыл бұрын
That's an interesting question Steve. I wouldn't want to guarantee you anything, but you can turn down the wetness of the mop and then not a lot is coming out. It's something you could try with a return option available to you for sure, because I think it's fine. It dries even on the normal setting in about 3-5 minutes

How is the Smart Home integration? I'm an owner of the first Kickstarter version of the Narwal where they promissed Google Home and Alexa integration as a stretch goal which they never delivered. Then they said it was likely to be seen in the next generation, but I didn't hear you talk about it?
@AutomateYourLife Жыл бұрын
Great question! Sadly, there's no integration with any other system. I don't think it matters a lot with this though. Set it on a schedule and live your life is the way I've used it thus far. :) But yeah, if you want an integrated one...you gotta go elsewhere.

@Automate Your Life yeah its cool. What I don't like about it is their app, kind of confusing. Plus you can not name your rooms to create zones to have it go to each one only if needed. They have some generic weird names like "den" or others can't remember but you'll see. Also, dividing a floor to each room is weird, vacuum goes around and creates let's say three rooms in one room and it's hard to change it, at least for me

@paul9387 Жыл бұрын
@Automate Your Life the idea of naming a room so you can only make it clean there is great, but the rooms they have in the app do not match anything I have. Maybe my house is odd. I told them about it, they said it's a great remark and they will send it to their programming team. It's been a while and nothing was changed ever since. Hopefully this will bother you too so maybe you'll have an influence on them due to how big channel you are! But vacuum itself ROCKZZZZ! Don't forget about their mopping soap, just watter doesn't do much

Your chocolate incident was not as catastrophic as Paul Hiberts sugar incident. lol. This is a pretty decent vac. I've seen similar ones, but this seems to have more functionality than a lot of others, and it includes the base station with it rather than the base being an optional extra..
