Nice job! Swing the transmission cables and joint to the exact opposite motion of the front transmission selector. Not sure how the cruise control on the front of a G6 works, but I was able to use ultralight aircraft cables to mimic the same throttle pedal motion on the rear engine using the cruise control box and the mechanisms in it. If you are drive by wire, that's even easier. I used one transmission computer on my Eagle Talon but with lower resistance for the A/B solenoids and overdrive, it shifted harder, and also simultaneously, and took care of the vehicle speed sensor issue running two TCU's. Make sure to use different coil rate springs if you are using the front suspension in the rear, you can get odd and even dangerous harmonics if they hit the same bump and bounce the car twice as much as normal. Make sure exhaust isn't going into the passenger compartment, there is a negative pressure zone on the back of the car, and it can bring the harmful gasses in and give headaches or make you pass out. If the car decelerates oddly after a high speed pass (over 60mph) or swings back and forth, slap it in neutral to decouple the engine from the transmissions and it should stabilize the car. Have a master kill switch that powers off the ignition and fuel pumps, they even have a switch that kills things if it's upside down. Could reduce injury and burns if fuel gets everywhere. Keep a fire extinguisher safely secured but accessible at all times. Have fun!

While I applaud you for your efforts unless both engines share the same drive-train your going to have a very tough time making both engines run in sync with each other. Even if they where the exact same engine we all know cars of the same make and model perform differently depending on whether the engine was strong or weak from the factory. You'll need a computer to monitor the RPM and control both engines while keeping them working together, otherwise one will always spin more than the other and your going to have all kinds of traction/acceleration issues.
@aatechtv5 жыл бұрын
Not really a problem. The wheel/ground friction takes care of any inconsistencies until the point of low traction. Tesla uses two different motors in front and back. As long as the drive units can maintain the RPM at the speed the vehicle is traveling at, they will aid in the forward motion at whatever percent is possible. If the rear engine is more powerful, you may have some oversteer issues.
@DavidStapley09825 жыл бұрын
@@aatechtv In addition to that being in different gears has not been a problem at all so far. With how the ecu's are programmed (stock programming) you can be in second in the front trans and 4th in the rear and the front motor is just revving high until it corrects gears. gear changes are also very smooth because the torque converter absorbs everything. if you give it gas in said situation they both shift to 1st and you fly forward.
@gordonhancock1805 жыл бұрын
absolutety im not sure why he did it id think putting in a v8 ls motor would have been the key
