Moss doesn't always grow on the north side, but that's ususlly where it is. The reason it doesn't grow in dierect sun is, the heavy uv radiation kills them, as well as bacteria and other micro-organisms. Hence the term, "sunlight is the best disinfectant". (Used also as a phrase reffering to transparency in government or business.)

Great job guys! These G6's are usually Swiss cheese.. this car was obviously someone's pride and joy. From the wear on the drivers door kick plate and rubber trim, guessing an older person who dragged their feet in and out. It sold cheap to someone and first time it failed they could not afford to fix it. Or at least thats my backstory guess. Haha Even the headlights aren't cloudy.. hope it gets a good owner. Thanks for the great content.. keep up the good work 👏

Hey never diss a Pontiac the performance division of General Motors provided some of the most iconic cars of our time. Such as Smoky and the Bandit (Fire Bird) GTO etc. They were forced to close as part of the government rescue. My G8 GXP still leaves much more expensive cars in the dust and looks awesome as well. Good job on the detail the G still looks good...

I’m just adding to a comment already made about the mold. It’s been a common belief/understanding over years and years that mold grows on the North side of trees and buildings due to the lack of sun. I’ve actually dealt with this on a house I lived in for 10 years. Every summer/fall I’d have to power wash the North side because of the green mold. This theory is also taught to and by survival experts in case you’re ever lost in the wilderness and need to get a general idea of which way North is by looking for the mold on the sides of trees.

When cleaning the engine bay two questions: 1. What product do you recommend and 2. Is there anything you should do to protect the engine? Disconnect the battery? Avoid water on certain parts? Etc.

The front license plate bracket was installed on that G6 because the car was going to be sold in a state that required a car to be registered with two license plates. (Ohio used to be one of those states, but not anymore.) My 2015 Cruze was built at the GM Lordstown (Ohio) plant, but it doesn't have a front plate bracket, as it was sold new in Pennsylvania, where only one plate is registered per vehicle rather than two.

Moss usually grows in shaded areas or on the side “not facing the sun”. In the northern hemisphere the south facing side won’t grow as much moss because the sun exposure on that side dries us up most of the moisture needed for it to grow.
