LOLOL - I had to stop the video at 17:15 when you said "my bobbin is wound a little too much"......I was rolling on the floor!!!! Not the same as being wound too tight but still, I was laying eggs on that one!!! THANK YOU so much for the joy you bring me with each and every video you put out!! Your sense of humor, your knowledge, your goofy-ness.....I just love it all ❤ You remind me so much of my Grandmother - looks, voice, craftiness, the whole package....You help fill a void. OK, back to finish the show and see how many quilts you got done. Thanks again for all you do!! Many blessings and hugs, Misty Oh my word......that orange quilt is definitely the bees knees!!! I just love that quilting pattern. Can you tell me - is that fabric still available?? Specifically the one with the triangles - it's very retro looking and I love it!!

Well, I learned something new about you in this video. Did not know you were a breast cancer survivor . I had a bilateral mastectomy in July. Even though the summer was not fun, I am now feeling like my old self and getting my energy back. I feel I am in a club I never asked for membership. But I can say I am cancer free! Yay!!!!

The "mittens" pantograph is so cute on the first quilt, Di. OH MY, Wendy's winter theme quilt is fabulous and your niece is adorable. I know that you all made great memories together along with the Engineer❣️ I must admit that I usually prefer a panto that doesn't have critters or insects, flying or otherwise. That said the bee and flower panto is perfect for the quilt with the bee fabric! I am so happy that you took the time to "Custom Quilt" your gorgeous last quilt of your marathon quilt day, even though you had to stop before it was done. It truly is a fabulous work of art ❣️❣️ ❣️

I have a quilter who I pay by check to, but i've not seen her in motion. THANK YOU for showing us how this is all accomplished. Your choice of quilting patterns is fun to see but i can't pick a favorite. My quilter always encourages me to pick the pattern, but only twice have i asked her to pick the pattern and surprise me. I'm not at all interested in switchig places with my quilter, but I can honestly say that her work enhances my quilts. Looking forward to watching you quilt again in the future, please, and thank you. God's Blessings.

Great job on making those triangles pop. Yes, important or special quilts will make their preferences known. We just need to listen. The Triangle and Orange Bee Quilt both have Hobbs washable wool, my favorite batting. The ones with Cuddle backing all have Hobbs polyester to match the Cuddle which is poly. Plus it's light and doesn't add to the weight of the quilt. Cuddle really adds weight to a quilt. Thanks for watching and asking Marcia.

Your quilts are beautiful, and you always choose the perfect quilting pattern for each one! Question...I love minky backing but the fluff always comes up through the top when I quilt...any tips on avoiding this issue? Love your videos ❤
@sisterchicksquilting3 ай бұрын
It will as those long threads on the minky are long and get trapped in the stitching. I always disclose this to my customers and no one has ever backed out. However, I don't' see it all the time. You can actually use a stiletto and run it under the threads that are sewn into the seam and pull them out. I occasionally do that when the cuddle/minky is darker than a lighter top. However, a lot of times it washes out after the first and second washing. Another solution is as lighter minky on the back and if the threads some up they don't show.
@Ana-je1oj3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your tips. Lighter color for the backing when I have a light colored top would save me a lot of grief 😂. I'll also try the stilleto. Thanks again. Stay well.❤

Di, doing that much quilting whew! Enjoyed the quilt show. I'm looking for a bit of advice, as I don't know anyone who quilts, is it okay to use polyester thread for piecing? I want to make some crumb quilts. I googled about the threads but it's conflicting. Anything quilted related, in my country, cost a lot of $$$ . I've what's considered to be "Good Quality Polyester" lovely colours.
@sisterchicksquilting3 ай бұрын
When I first started quilting everyone told me 100% cotton 40 to 60 wt thread only. I foudn out it knotes easily with handwork, breaks easily, and pulled a tad on the fabric. I've used so many threas but in the last year I've settled on Omni, 100% polyester thread. My my domestic and long arm both perform so well with that thread, and people can't tell it's not cotton! So yes! It's definatly OK to use polyester thread for piecing. AND...don't forget this rule, " do what works for you and forget the quilt police!" Thanks for asking & watching my channel Irish Lass!! :)
