Hi, I am getting lots of feedback about aws pip process and firing and all.. Mostly being reviewed by sde s.. I recently got selected as a TAM , so now wondering shall I accept the offer or not.. It's for aws india... Is this culture same for l5 tam roles too? Any guidance.. I don't see people talking about other roles than sde.. Much appreciated.. Thanks

Hi Haimanti! Amazon does have a PIP culture where low performing individuals are given a chance to improve and if they don't, they're eventually let go. But, it's usually for the bottom 5% of people. But in my experience, it's very hard to be in the bottom 5% and I would not be worried about it. For the doors a job at Amazon might open for you, it's worth the risk if you're not satisfied with your current employer and don't have other better options than Amazon. TAM culture in terms of PIP and Firing should not be very different from SWE.
