Yesss, so cool that you tried this challenge, Jansley! Congratulations for making it a month! Re: the crying and anger - this definitely happens. We don't even realize all the ways that alcohol numbs us to our emotions, even if we "save it up" for the weekend. I was also a weekend warrior before I quit drinking lol and this is honestly one of the biggest benefits I've seen from sobriety - I've had to learn how to deal with my emotions without a crutch. As far as the FOMO goes, it's SUPER helpful to have a non-alcoholic beer in your hand, and so many breweries offer them now. Hope you're having so much fun in Thailand!!

Thank you! And yeah, the random emotions were super surprising haha. That makes sense about having the NA beer. My hop water was useful for that, but that is just as expensive as craft beer 😂 Thailand is a BLAST so far, love it here! 🇹🇭

I did 75 Hard with friends so that meant no alcohol for 75 days. When you take a break from alcohol you REALLY see to what capacity it plays a role in your life. I think it's important to take a break to truly understand that. I realized I was drinking way too much and sometimes for the wrong reasons. Now, I have a drink because I enjoy them from time to time. I like a good craft beer and a whiskey. I am no longer looking at it as a means to just let loose and forget. Thanks for the dope video!

I have done this myself and it happened to me too that I cried a little bit. It's true you enjoy doing things without alcohol. In my case Im drinking an alcohol free beer Stella. It's the same thing flavor-wise

Glad I’m not the only one haha. But yeah, having an NA substitute seems much more doable than no replacement at all. thanks for watching Adrian!

Great video man. I’ve never completely quit alcohol, but I also did some self evaluation this year. I started doing the seltzer thing you mentioned. I’m more of a beer guy instead of cocktails, and I found at least 50% of the time I don’t necessarily want alcohol as much as I just want something cold and carbonated. Keeping seltzers in the fridge reduced how much beer I drank every week by a substantial amount. I think it’s a good tip for anyone reducing their alcohol consumption or quitting completely. Also, Andrew Huberman did a podcast about alcohol and its effects you might find interesting. I did anyhow. Best of luck in the future!

Yep, I think the self evaluation what immensely helpful. I now have no reason to drink in my apartment, as there’s no added benefit now that I’ve done this challenge. Good on you for finding a healthier alternative, the seltzers can be great!

Even with heavy traffic your oil light on your car shouldn't just go off. Check your oil level and if it keeps happening I'd get it checked. I'm also writing this as I'm drinking a beer, but understand the struggle. Even if you're not some crazy drinker total sobriety is really tough.

Almost 5 years for me when I quit ! Took about a year and a half to 2 years to feel better . But I feel better than ever now ! It takes time but in the long run you will feel better ! Alcohol is a DRUG and a Poison !

That’s a long time before you felt better! Certainly you must have noticed some benefits prior to 2 years right? Congrats on the progress!

I've never understood why people like alcohol. There's better and cheaper options to "escape" from reality if you really need to be under the influence. Anytime I've ever drank, I usually regretted it. Feel like shit the next day, throwing up, headache ect, dehydrated asf. There are no pros.

Alcohol can be pretty cheap haha. The allure of alcohol at least for me is that 2 drinks calms my constantly racing and overthinking mind, and with no discernible hangover. Obviously, it’s just masking those feelings, and I now have other healthier ways of taming a racing mind, but that was the allure for me.
