Hey ERod. I just wanted to say that back when I watched a lot of Channel Awesome, I actually really loved watching your stuff. It was obscure, but it stuck with me. Remember when you did the (April 1st?) Percy Jackson review that was just you screaming “It’s different from the book! Review over!” I laughed so hard at that. It never left me. Never. Good luck with your future endeavors my man.

Then i was wondering did he quit , when there was no promotion from CA to any other content maker than Doug ... i dont remember that anything that Doug did had "Check out these other people we have on this channel " . Last time i looked only The cinema snob and Guru Larry was listed as shows ... everyone else has left .

I don't comment on KZbin very often, and I've never watched your channel before, but I stumbled across this video, and man, I'm so sorry you got caught up in all of this. It's sad to hear that your dream was crushed because of other people's incompetence. One good thing that came out of this dumpster fire is that I've never truly realized how much CA was "a Doug's show". It really sucks that most people didn't even know that small contributors like you were on the site, because CA refused to share the spotlight. So this is a good opportunity to finally check other channels out. I hope your hard work pays off in the future regardless, and I wish you best of luck. P.S. Huge props to Linkara. He did the job he didn't have to do better than Michaud.
@TimeTellsNoLies906 жыл бұрын
While CA not promoting their other stars enough was definitely a problem, judging from what I can recall from how fans of TGWTG reacted to him, I think with E-Rod's case, he just came way too late for him to be seen as unique compared to the other reviewers that started before he did. That and him not being that well known before coming to TGWTG was probably why it took so long for him to get on the site, though I'm obviously guessing, so don't quote me on that.Regardless, it definitely sucks seeing a dude that absolutely worked his butt off to get on the site to have to go through this.

A lot of people were ignored because they were not popular enough. Honestly, not to sound like an asshole, but even without the doc giving all of this information, it is honestly not that surprising, it's a little bit predictable, hell, if I had ever been CA producer, I would've probably expected to not have any kind of special treatment. That's just how a lot of companies work, and like BB said: "It's just the tip of the Iceberg" when it comes to the CA drama.

I saw you were one of the last people on the site. I assumed it was because of the hard work it took to join and gratitude you said you had for Rob Walker. I am sorry to see you go. For what it matters, Erod, I will keep watching any work you put out. But take heart, The Escapist used to be full of creators who all had to turn in after a new site editor came in and went on a bit of a tirade. But the creators left there and they survived. Jim Sterling, Moviebob, the Extra-Credits crew, Wisecrack, Lisa Foiles. They all went on and even flourished after they left. And if Yahtzee was not such a big draw the site would have gone under without the talent. I hope you meet with the same renewed vigor and success as they did.

And... that was one fan being disappointed, because at one con he got a bit cranky. That's it. Me too. In fact, I know little or nothing of most aside from NC, Lupa, Phelous, N. Chick, Brad and a couple others. I never clicked on anyone else's page. I can only guess it was due to there being so many reviewers that purposely checking out ones I was naive of seemed a bit daunting. For me the crossovers didn't help either because the guest reviewer's character never seemed to come across. When I started watching Phelous and Lupa it was _in spite_ of the crossovers with Doug, not because of them. Still, ERod seems like a nice dude and I wish I'd given him and the others a chance rather than re-watching NC reviews. And once the fanboy mentality on the site grew to a point where I stopped visiting it (shortly after NC's resurrection) I'd frankly forgotten most of them existed until last week. :(

Linkara's such a nice guy. And dude, you were one of the few people I watched from CA after the first wave of departures. Stay Awesome on your own. No channel needed.

Hey Erod, I'm really so sorry to hear all of this. It's so heart-breaking; I've always loved your cheerfulness while remaining such a badass in your videos. There are so many things I remember of you: I remember how you got so excited in one of your videos because Bruce Campbell saw your top 10 BC video; I remember your review on Casey Jones so vividly, encouraging me to check out that fan film for myself. Erod, these may just be words... But sincerely, thank you. Thank you for putting a smile on my face and making me laugh. 😊 If that's ok with you, I'm sending virtual hugs your way. If not... then I'll just send some positive energy. Cheer up; your time on CA may have come to an end, but you've (re)gained a whole bunch of followers. Looking forward to your next video, Erod. Lots of love to you, mang.

There is an old Arabic Proverb: "If one person calls you an ass, pay no heed. If five people call you an ass, buy yourself a saddle." I think you're making the right decision leaving CH given everything that is happening. I know how much time and effort needs to be placed in these videos. And while I don't know enough about finance to know if they had the means to pay you all, the fact Doug has his own studio, props, and costumes while you guys get scraps is just one of the many problems you guys are experiencing. And I was a fan of the NC long before he had his studio. You are my favorite internet personality behind the NC! I am proud to sponsor your show! If I ever get my shit together, I am paying for you to come down to Orlando so we can do a crossover!

Hey Eric, I'm sorry to hear it's come to this. I knew how much you loved being a part of Channel Awesome, so I can just imagine how hard this must have been for you. When all this shit started getting very serious, you were the producer I was the most worried about. I was worried about how you were gonna feel and how this controversy was going to affect you. I just wanna say that seeing you cry was very hard for me to watch. I said in the comments for your Patreon video that I wished I could give you a hug and support. I wish the same thing here. Only more... With you and so many other ex-producers, the communication problem with Channel Awesome just sounds dreadful. It's frustrating to hear how bad these people were with letting producers, especially you, know what was going on... It's sweet to hear just what a caring friend Lewis Lovhaug has been to you. Both of you were one of my top five favorite reviewers on Channel Awesome, and still are now that you've both left the site. That was a great thing of him to do, letting you know what was happening... When all's said and done, I believe that your decision to leave was probably for the best. I don't know if Channel Awesome can recover from the shitstorm they've created, but if they do, it won't be anytime soon... Just to be clear, I am still a fan of Doug Walker. Like you, his work inspired me to get into making video reviews. I've done so much more since. It's mostly the company and Mike Michaud I'm furious with. Michaud has fucked things up so bad that it would take a factory of PR people to fix this mess. But as for Doug, I like him and his work. I can only hope there's a way he can get out of this and make a come back... I'm so happy to hear that you're gonna continue doing the Blockbuster Buster, with or without Channel Awesome. That was the one thing I was dreading throughout this video; that you were done. I'm glad those fears were wrong. It's great to hear that the eighth season is underway. I hope production goes well... If you can, I suggest doing all you can to post your new reviews to KZbin. Dailymotion may work a lot of the time when it comes to avoiding copyright problems, but it's not as reliable or as secure as KZbin. That's just a suggestion. You do whatever you fell you have to do... As I've said many times before, more than happy to support you Eric! I will continue supporting you through Patreon as long as I can afford to... Hopefully one day, I'll get the chance to meet you. Or better, maybe we'll get the chance to work together on a project. I make review videos and have some filmmaking experience. You never know... Good luck with getting the new season started, and I eagerly anticipate the three-hundredth episode. Can't wait for the trailer... P.S... Sorry for the late response. I've had a bit of tiring weekend...

Erod thanks for everything you do. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have discovered Gravity Falls. Linkara seems like a great, down to earth guy. I been watching CA when it was that guy with the glasses for nearly 10 years. Seen so many producers come and go. It sucks with all the drama. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. You have always brightened my day.
@kinnikufan6 жыл бұрын
Haven't watched many of your newer videos (fell behind a year ago), but I always loved your show. You single-handedly brought me to Channel Awesome after most other producers had moved to KZbin (I believe you were using DailyMotion, but I can't remember), so I just want you to know that I will continue to support you. I hope you get to work with a bunch of other great people and continue your strong friendship with Linkara. I sincerely hope that one day you will get your big crossover movie/special and I hope that it is everything you've dreamed it would be.

So glad the Blockbuster Buster will continue. Respect and agree with you leaving CA. Let's face it CA lost its ground years back. Good luck for the future and I really hope one day you can make a living from your videos again. I'd love it if you could return to weekly vids. It's a shame not enough people know how good you are.

Hey man, I always watched you when I saw your videos popped up on Channel Awesome - I just subscribed as I loved your content. It's saddening to hear what you've gone through & that you were kept in the dark. I'm sure something will come your way... sounds like Linkara has a good head on his shoulders though, seems like an outstanding man.
@MoonSpiritChannel6 жыл бұрын
They kept you in the dark this whole time? Goddamn....I'm so upset with Channel Awesome management again! And the only person to treat you with a real amount of respect was Linkara? I give mad props to him, no! Respect! He deserves all the respect! As for Channel Awesome, FUCK THEM!! I can't believe they would do this to you.
@MoonSpiritChannel6 жыл бұрын
Oh no, I'm fully aware of CA's shitacular communications. I read the entire dossier. I just feel sorry that E-Rod, who never follows social media, had to hear all this. Everyone on Channel Awesome has left b/c of all this huge shitstorm, and E-Rod is completely oblivious of it, and the higher ups at CA kept him in the dark about this.
@MoonSpiritChannel6 жыл бұрын
This explains everything: docs.google.com/document/d/1WZFkR__B3Mk9EYQglvislMUx9HWvWhOaBP820UBa4dA/preview But to shorten: CA is a clusterfuck of a mess, especially with shit communication and leadership, treating some of their own producers badly, and Doug's mostly letting this slide b/c he's off in his own world.
@Astrithor6 жыл бұрын
MoonSpirit Linkara is THE MAN. I genuinely think he's the best person CA ever associated with. Him splitting from CA is like Batman forming the Rebellion in Injustice. P.S. Michaud is the Injustice Superman.

To ERod, I saw your video back when Blip.tv was active. It was the Nostalgia Critic/Blockbuster Buster Crossover, when you guys did TF4. From there, I watched your past shows and you made a web of awesomeness. A series of overarching adventures of a Fanboy fighting against darkness and evil. It inspired me to want to do what you did, movies within reviews. A universe within small glimpse of your videos. I do hope that you do continue. I wanted to see more, and hopefully, when I do my series, I hope to collab with you for a epic review. I hope your reviews become as epic as you’ve done. May your life be as big as you’ve made it. Good Luck and hope that everything works out for the best. -EC P.S.: You’ll know what those initials mean in the future.

Allow me to just say that I absolutely appreciate your complete transparency and completely support your decision. 75% of the anniversary cast leaving is just insane. At this point Channel Awesome downsizing to just working with Chicago-based producers is a matter of when, not if.

Wow this is probably like the saddest "I have left Channel Awesome" video in a sense. Others have been sad for finding out what happened to a lot of these poor producers and what CA put them through and the crap they've been through. This is sad on a "this is a guy who really loved the site, really did all he could for it, really was happy to be on it, and then found out the dark truth and decided to leave" and man it's just depressing. Your stuff is off CA as the only people on the site now are Brad Jones due to his close friendship with Doug and Rob and Guru Larry who is pretty much on the site to troll it (which they really reallllllllllllly deserve) as yeah no one else has stayed and for very good reason. I am glad you're still going to make videos and yeah as long as you still make them I'll watch them and through sources continue supporting you on patreon. I hope like other producers who left your patreon and views get a bump as I know that happened with some people (like Suede) and it certainly deserves to happen to you since you deserve to make videos for a living not have to work a job you hate and you really deserve to work with a team that respects you more.

Haven't kept up with CA, but I do remember your stuff. Was always fun to watch, because you always looked like you really had a lot of joy and passion for what you were talking about. I'd just like to say this. I have always loved you ERod. I originally saw a review of yours on Channel Awesome, but the moment I watched it, I knew you'd be one of the few I kept watching, even down to long after I stopped looking at CA at all. Your views, thoughts and critiques about films, especially animated ones, match a lot of my own, so I found a weird harmony when you did do Blockbuster Buster. I didn't realise you had a youtube channel that was active or I would have subscribed long ago (I've bene lurking on dailymotion to watch Blockbuster Buster, so yeah). Keep strong dude! I know you'll be fine without Channel Awesome, cause well, they weren't even that big anymore before all this stuff went down. When you joined was when it was in it's prime. We'll still be here to watch you, and I hope in the future when my income has stabilised, I'll be able to contribute to your patreon as well, cause you deserve way more than you get dude. Love you

You know, I actually really think collectively, as the internet, we need to back off Linkara. Everything we learn about him seems to point to him being outrageously sweet, kind, and generous. He has earned so much good will that frankly I don't care if he's awkward, I don't care if he has odd fetishes, I don't care that lightbringer is cringy; he seems like such a genuinely good guy that none of that really means he deserves to be shit on. In retrospect after everything we've learned I honestly think that Jim was *way* to gentle on Doug, and more than a bit too mean to Lewis; who despite any odd quirks is just a generally upstanding dude.

Man, if there's one good thing that's come from this CA thing is that I have now found the youtube channels of a bunch of people I used to watch on tgwtg/ca, my personal reason for stopping going to tgwtg/ca was the whole incident surrounding obscuruslupa's firing and jewwario's passing, on top of the transition to the channel awesome site, it all just felt so wrong to me and I always felt that there were bad things going on at the management level because of those incidents. Despite all the things I have learned over the past few days, I will probably never forget the enjoyment the site used to give me and hopefully the bad things I have learned won't corrupt those memories.

I lost interest in Channel Awesome long time ago. Used to be a fan of Nostalgia Critic, but I would probably watch new episodes of the SImpsons rather than him now. Just disappointed you never had a part in these anniversary movies, used to love these. Always thought you were easily the best actor in all CA, when I watch you do Nerdlinger or smth like that, I dont see you Erod, I just see the character. I tried doing acting a bit, and I understand how hard it can be, you all make it look so easy.
