You are very fortunate to have found out that you have a different calling. Being a flight attendant for over 40 years I can tell you there are a lot of unhappy people out there doing this job that regret staying for so long. But they became trapped. And then time marched on, they got older and turned out very unhappy . Good luck

This is true! I love being a flight attendant and I don’t understand people who don’t. This is not merely a job to pay the bills. It’s truly a lifestyle. Me, I love it, I get to go places. I love staying in hotels, i love being on a plane all day. It’s my life. People that decide to become flight attendants need to realize: this is not your typical 9-5 job where you get paid 40 hours a week bi weekly, and you get to go home every night. It’s not. You absolutely do have to be almost perfect in this job. It truly is not for everyone. Wish more people would come to terms with that. And it’s okay if it’s not for you. It really is. There are so many other things you can do out there.

A case of self sabotage that I ever heard. You spend extra days in a hotel and didn’t realize the missing shoes until getting an assignment. You were already on call and on the clock. You didn’t even think about checking your own luggage to see if everything is there. What people wear doesn’t even have anything to do with being a flight attendant. It’s just your daily routine. Being asleep at the wheel is pretty much the metaphor of your life.

I once had a great interest in becoming a flight attendant, when i finally was working, it was a toxic environment, lots of petty drama, back stabbing, gossip, and other employees trying to get ppl fired for petty reasons. It soured my enthusiasm excitement and i didnt like having to defend myself from these other employees all the time, they would find reasons to cause problems, leaderships were bad unfair and deplorable. Favorites and clicks with attitudes. Im glad i got out of that. But most off all i think the pilots and passengers gave me good compliments for my professionalism and customer service. The airlines always have the wrong toxic people on charge. Glad to be gone and not ever going back.

Reserve life is hard. There were many times where I wanted to as well but I stuck through it and now I am a lineholder. Been a line holder for about 5 years and I’m loving the flexibility. On reserve you are at the companies mercy. You have barely no flexibility at all. I can see why it got down on you so hard. I wish you would of stuck it out and stayed. I promise you when you become a line holder that’s when your career truly begins. Good luck with your KZbin career. I hope it pans out for you the way you want. ♥️

I've been flying since 1998. I'm so sorry United didn't work out. You seemed so happy to be going there. Do you regret leaving the regional? Do you think you should've stayed? I think there are a lot of people that want to go mainline and then realize it isn't all that great. You definitely have a lot of alone time. If you are the type of person that has to be constantly doing something, this job will be very hard for you. It can be very isolating. You spend a lot of your time in Hotels. I'm very, very happy at my airline. We don't have layovers. You're home every night so there is more of a balance. Don't you feel like you spent so much time and energy in training? So how long were you there? 🤔 Well, time to move on. It happens. I've actually walked out on some regionals. They don't give a shit about their Flight Attendants so at one of them I was working a 5 leg day and after the first round trip we had a little sit and I walked past the gate that my hometown flight was leaving, so I hopped on that and just flew home. Sent my stuff to the manager was like, "Peace out! ✌🏻 " One regional had a Director of Flight Attendants who was an ugly, short little troll man. He had a horrible attitude and called my house and yelled at me. Well, he chose the wrong person to yell at. I yelled back at him and he threatened me and I threatened him. Then I hung up on him. Then I wrote a letter to every department head at the airline. Then called his ass the next day and said to him, "I hope your ass fits into my dress because I quit. You can fly my schedule." Click! Sent him my dress in a box to his office! 🖕🏻 A-Hole. Anyways, you'll be okay. You'll bounce back, kid. Have hope. I guess I'll be watching your channel grow. Don't do stuff where you can get hurt. 🤪😜

This is my fear. I work for a similar airline to yours but not quite. We do get layovers, I’ve just chosen to do turns on my line in the last year bc I got pregnant and had my baby recently. I love the job, i love what I do, and I do NOT stay in my hotel. I go explore y’all. I want to do that on a larger scale, and I want to be compensated for my language fluencies, as my current airline doesn’t pay for that. But my fear is leaving my current airline and hating the legacy I go to. I am kind of done with my current airline. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. The only really great thing about my current airline is that I live in base. I’d have to commute with United. Idk 🤷‍♀️ choices!

As a former F/A with United (17 Years) you were not ready, everything you spoke of especially the loneliness and the separation are something most people do research on ahead of time, there are allot of factors to consider before all that interviewing and weeks of training. Side note as you explore your KZbin career, get to the point, you could have cleared this mystery up in like 5 minutes and moved on to new content. All airlines during your probation are strict, there is no room for error. I am very sure during the interviews and the training many times it was mentioned that Airlines run on punctuality, on time performance, it's pretty much drilled into you from the word go. Good luck with the future

Thank you for sharing you recent moments. I am sorry to hear that you left from being a Flight Attendant. And if you from regional over to mainline, that is always nice. But I feel sorry fir you about the career in the airline industry. I do hope that your new job will bring you comfort and money that will give you career relief. Yes, the Flight Attendant life is sometimes ypu are alone on a layover and at home!! And yes, the Leader or Purser of the crew team is to give consideration and call you to have you to come down and be with the crew. And also other crew members will give consideration to call you as well. In may years of flying, I knew that I was alone and by myself. I did not have a problem with that because I did want to travel. Seeing the different cities and countries in the world whole learning in college was nice but I wanted to go to Europe, Asia and South America. So, for me working as initial Flight Attendant and going to addition training to be promoted to Purser position was rewarding for me. I started flying two years before the sad situation of 9/11. Those months after that incident I was scared but I got through that while flying to London, UK and Paris, France the places that I love. Plus, I have family and friends in Europe in general. Well, again, I hope that your experience traveling has given you more of an understanding of culture and life. Please continue to take care of yourself before your family and friends!!! Because people look up to you. So, when you are able to earn a paycheck and feed yourself first then you can help family and friends second and third position to you first!!!!

@@EnnisGomez I hear you and I sympathy with you. Yes, I did not get to change my bases when after graduating from F/A Training here in Chicago. Well, New York was ok to have commuting and O have my Father who lives there. So that would been fine for a short while. But Washington DC, no!!! Having to go to three airports no! Furthermore, I would always be hearing how commuting to your base selection was hard for many people. When I was flying with other F/As and I found out they commuted then I would always ask him do they do it. And pilots as well commute to their base selection!!! Many people have their lives established where they live. So, you or they want the job then you have to make some sacrifices to dealing with this industry. I have even heard of those senior ramp men and women who are based in Los Angeles but live in Hawaii. So, they have found friends gotten an apartment together fir the week days and fly home on their days of. The saving grace is that we, in the industry are to fly on Stand-By but at a small charge!!!!! Flight Benefits are the most satisfying item in the employment package. I would just use the benefits for vacation only. I did wanted to give my Mother my flights passes but she loves taking the Antrak Train to have those Sleeper Furst Class Cabins. And my Father was already a 1 Hundred K plus or Elite Member on American. He did not want to just fly on Stand By!!! An insult to him!!!

Ok you were at the hotel at 1145 for a 1215 departure? What time was customer boarding supposed to start? 30 minutes before departure? You were not there. Then you crew desk calls three times and you missed the calls? United would not let you transfer? I doubt that. Finally you forget your shoes? What were you wearing, flip flops? You would not have been eligible for unemployment as you were fired/resigned for cause. Pay attention Ennius, these are silly mistakes, you must do better at your next job. Good luck.

Being an airline employee in this day and age,is hard and it is under-appreciated. In the 60's, 70's and 80's, air travel was fun, exciting and had a sense of adventure to it. Many of the airlines that had a unique style, "personality" and went "all out" to treat the passengers like royalty, were swallowed up by United, American and Delta. These were once great airlines in their own right but greedy CEO's and corporate bean counters, took the enjoyment out of flying. 😮 If I hate being a passenger, I can only imagine how many pursued a career in the airlines, thinking that it was going to be an adventure. It was an adventure but not the pleasant kind.

As a Flight Attendant (Now Retired) for 42 years, it’s a Huge Shame to see how the job I loved so much has gone so far down the Rat’s Nest….. I’m Originally Continental Airlines, it was a bumpy ride under Frank Lorenzo, but we got better and Better and Our Service was a Very Quality Product… and we wound awards year after year… Until we Bought out the “U” name.. then It all fell apart… for the 5 Years I was part of the “Other” Airline we were still Continental, but the influence of the “U” became quite apparent.. and we always provided free meals at time specific part of the day, then we ended up moving to “Food for Sale”…Per the “U” brand and the drama went on from there… I loved my time at CO, and hated every Minute at the “U”… so your departure from them is no big Loss… Better off at another Company who will treat you better and with more respect, and less Back Stabbing wretches

I’m a very spiritual person and I believe that the universe will start to send you signs when you’re not in the right place for your souls purpose. But if you don’t pick up on those signs the universe will take matters into it’s own hands. And it completely sounds like you got the nudge that you needed. I believe in the law of attraction and manifestation and you’ll be tested over the next little while; to see if you “deserve” something you really want / are going after. Keep fighting and don’t give up! Remember, when you hit rock bottom - the only way you can go is up! Good luck brother, I’m still here with you cheering you on 😊

I've watched you since your transition from regional. I really got the feeling you liked being a FA. I watched your video twice and am still unclear if you really want to give up being a FA or if you plan on applying for another airline. I know someone who was released from UA with just a few weeks left on probation for missing a call from crew scheduling. They now have a F2F with DL. If you can stand going through training again, DL may be a much better option with just 6 Adays a month. It's worth some thought. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best. You have a very engaging personality. I am sure you will do well in the future.
