You didn’t fail. You refused to conform. I applaud you. This is extremely difficult for us to do in healthcare. I struggled with this for years in medicine too. The frustration was already peaking (after I too went to Haiti - 2018), and that frustration went off the cliff when the pandemic started. I also suddenly had no choice. How could I leave? I couldn’t. I had no other choice than to stay. Since then, I too decided to open my own practice. But, I dragged my feet. The pandemic showed me how difficult it would be to find a job, and how fragile my license was if I didn’t conform and agree. Not only did I drag my feet out of fear, but because of the ridicule we face from colleagues. So, I found a practice that I aligned with. I felt safe. And, I felt like I could finally do my job. All seemed well….. until they too sold to corporate medicine. So, here I am, with walls closing in on us in mainstream medicine, back on my path to opening my own practice. I’m scared, but also excited, that I’ll be free and have my own practice open and ready to actually do real medicine… in only - few short weeks.

I agree…I am so confused as to how to even properly educate my patients nowadays. Seems a lot of what we have been taught in medicine is a ploy to make certain entities richer and US sicker and more dependent. I no longer teach a number of things which I learned to be Law in nursing school. My patients look at me as though I am insane. I try to teach my patients lifestyle modification through diet, exercise and mental health management is the best way. Much like Dr. Boz, I feel as though I no longer fit and feel as though I am a part of the problem instead of the solution. God bless us ALL.

@ I am going through transition time myself. I always wanted to be a nurse, but the more I am in school and realize what they are teaching in the books is misinformation that is keeping people sick. I see so many nurses that are completely burnt out on the corporate healthcare system. I am considering doing hair after this semester. I have been doing a lot of soul searching. So many doctors are closed minded too. I have seen nurses lose their jobs if they try to properly advocate for patients and think outside the box. There is a disconnect in education and real life bedside.

My husband and I are in our mid-seventies. When we were young, doctors ran medicine and it was a great system. They called them family doctors. They were part of the community and everybody knew them. Now, medicine is run by businessmen, lawyers, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies. It is a business, not a service, and it costs a fortune. Hospitals can ruin a family in a week. It is a syndicate; it's not medicine. Doctors are not trusted members of the family; they are mechanisms in a machine. It's not your fault. It is Wall Street greed. Medicine has been dehumanized. My husband and I are proud of you, and wish you were our doctor. Good luck, and God bless.

Whatever FDA says I try to avoid it. I found myself in this rabbit hole of so many industry lies when I read "The 23 Former Doctor Truths". Its no wonder why Doctor left her career.

@@Sophiascott12 we live in the age of deception. It’s invaded our political life. We’re fed a “narrative “ rather than factual information. It’s invaded our medical system (so called “conventional wisdom”). They say the Devil’s primary weapon is…… is deception.
@virginiasenophdrn5921Ай бұрын
While it is understandable to question large institutions and remain skeptical of industry practices, outright dismissing the FDA (or any regulatory body) can overlook critical benefits these institutions provide. Here are several arguments to consider: Fallacy of Overgeneralization: It is problematic to assume that all decisions by the FDA are flawed or driven by industry lies. Regulatory bodies like the FDA operate within a complex framework balancing public safety, scientific evidence, and public health needs. Dismissing all FDA recommendations because of some instances of controversy is an overgeneralization. False Equivalence: While "The 23 Former Doctor Truths" may highlight individual frustrations and systemic challenges within the healthcare system, these experiences do not invalidate the entirety of the medical field or regulatory oversight. Anecdotal evidence, while valuable for personal insight, doesn’t equate to a comprehensive analysis of healthcare systems or regulatory science. FDA’s Role in Public Health: The FDA ensures that medications, vaccines, and food products meet safety and efficacy standards. Even though industries may lobby for certain outcomes, the absence of regulation would likely result in increased public health risks, as seen in historical cases where unregulated products caused harm (e.g., contaminated food, unsafe pharmaceuticals). Critical Engagement vs. Blanket Rejection: Instead of rejecting everything the FDA approves, a more balanced approach involves critically evaluating specific recommendations. It is possible to question the motives behind certain decisions without dismissing the entirety of their efforts. Independent research, professional medical advice, and peer-reviewed evidence can provide additional clarity. The Complexity of Individual Decisions: A doctor leaving their career, regardless of their reasons, reflects personal experiences that may or may not apply universally. It’s important not to draw broad conclusions from isolated cases. Many clinicians continue to find meaning and effectiveness within the system, striving to improve it from within. In summary, while skepticism is healthy, rejecting everything associated with the FDA risks ignoring the value of scientific research and regulation. A nuanced, critical perspective that engages with facts rather than emotional narratives or singular stories will yield more informed decisions.

FDA is a joke
@virginiasenophdrn592111 күн бұрын
@@pamelaportland1286 I get where you're coming from; many institutions have areas they can improve. That said, the FDA does play a key role in overseeing the safety and efficacy of medicines and food. Like any large organization, it's important to hold them accountable, but the FDA also has a lot of experts who work hard to establish standards that help protect public health. If you're interested, checking a mix of sources, like independent research studies or reviews from public health organizations, can give a clearer picture of the FDA's role and areas of improvement. That way, we can see both the positives and the challenges.

I believed this would mean I could do things the right way and for the right reasons. But, at every turn there’s regulatory red tape to deal with. My business never reached its growth potential as my competitors, because I didn’t pay off the doctors (for referrals). Thirty plus years later I’m still not sorry for doing things properly for each and every patient served. But I won’t deny, as I’m ready for retirement it won’t be as easy financially as my former competitors due to doing things the right way for the right reasons. My personal doc for 28 years retired after 40 years as a working general practitioner. About 15 years ago, he sold his practice to the North Texas M******** Health System and then spent the balance of his career as a corporate employee. During my last appointment, we spent about an hour talking man-to-man about what we had experienced during the C-19 medical/bureaucratic betrayal of us all. He was crying as he told me that he could have saved lives if he had been allowed to prescribe some common (banned) meds to his patients but was REQUIRED to follow the lethal corporate protocol. He said that when he went through medical school, received his WHITE COAT and then did his internship, he believed in the healing mission of the physician which was totally abandoned by his corporate employer. He may have been the last good doctor in our area. I hate to say it, but it looks like the future for health care is very bleak in the USA.

They are fellow human beings trying to survive in this world along with the rest of us. God bless you, Dr. Boz.

Oh doc! What a beautiful story! Those people must have been so thankful for you being there. Keep on what you are doing. I’m so glad I found you! I’m an rn of almost 35years and miss the early days of my career. Things have changed and not changed for the better…sadly.

Thank you for sharing that. For many yrs I worked with the missionaries from From International Missionary Fellowship that ran a mission hospital I. The remote area called Bombardopilis, Haiti, I put together maternity kits after the mom’s had their babies. They had receiving blankets , washable diapers, soap & all the important stuff. So glad to meet so Done with a heart like mine.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I love the part about “expensive grace” and “cheap grace”. I laughed about your answer to prayer 🤮….The Lord moves in mysterious ways🫣

I'm sure I'm not the first to say we wish there were more medical professionals who had a tender conscience like yours. So, believers, let's do what makes a difference and pray! Father, bring them out of darkness into your light, so they'll have a heart to do what truly pleases You 🙏

I just went to a functional medicine practice. They were thrilled I was doing a majority of the right things but then came the labs. Labs that my own MD would NEVER order. The puzzle pieces fell into place. I'm grain free, alcohol free, I'm getting my folate up, and my D3. My gut is feeling better. I also work in corporate medicine. This seeking has now given me a new goal. I'm all in and I will be turning into functional medicine. The clinic knows who you are and said hello! I live in podunk NV. Thank you!

Carnivore fixes guts. Not just better. 100% fixed. Feel super for the first time ever.

@BeefNEggs057 I'm aware, however seeking alternative medicine to get labs your MD will not order was a huge relief. I needed to know what was lacking and glad I did.

Like you, I was struggling to balance patient care with corporate demands. I started doing trips with FOTCOH 2010 after the earthquake. Life changing. I am now retired from the struggle but appreciate you and your efforts.

" Physician heal Thy self ! ", I admire your serving spirit. A spirit that demands to be expressed and fulfilled. I am an RN with 29 years experience bedside critical care and have always found it difficult to reconcile hospital system and policy ( i.e filling and turning beds, one of many examples ) with effective service and care for patients. Today I am able to work seasonal will lots of time off and operate on a continuum of being helpful to being " Truly Helpful " on a holistic level. Most of the time I can say I'm helpful with my last season being the first in over 8 years where I enjoyed my profession, patients, environment and team and was able to be helpful on a high level. A badly needed personal bump that saved me from retiring early with an attitude. I want to work and serve and Lord there has got to be a better way. My journey continues. Dr. Boz I thank you for your outstanding, practical, down to earth and loving style of care, teaching and service. You have helped me and we just met. I will follow and incorporate what I don't already practice, keep you posted. Peace, Mike RN

Thank you for sharing your experience and your heart and soul in this video. It was very moving, and I know people who feel trapped can find hope. I’m not a doctor, but I was a public school teacher for 23 years, and I knew when I needed to walk away. Now, I am contentedly retired, and able to serve in my church or wherever God wants me to. God bless you, Dr. Boz, and your third-world drug-dealing husband, too!🥰

I don’t why I am repelled by the invocation of God while listening to someone explain an experience. At the same time I am completely drawn in by what feels like your complete sincerity. I not only believe you, but every time I watch this video, I am nourished with a healthy confirmation of the importance that I maintain my receptors to my inner voice. It always seems to guide me to health and truth. The fact that health and truth tend to require hard work is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life. Most of the time, the right thing to do is the hard thing to do. And the wrong thing to do is the easy thing to do. Thank you for your video.
