Well explained, mate. 100% agree. A month ago, I stopped working as a Lead Data Analyst and am now doing full-time Liquid Drum and Bass production and DJing. I started making music at age 33. When it was just my hobby, I worried if I had started too late, but now I do 40+ hours of music production weekly and don’t give a damn about the worries. I’m just doing my best with a lot of joy, hoping that the ramen period will end one day. Now I don't fear that my days will be the same and the only opportunity I have, as you explained so nicely, is a promotion or a switch (hopefully, voluntarily) to another tech company. Now the fear has been replaced with faith. I'd like to highlight this last thought 👉 I don't live in fear. I live with faith. 👈 PS. My guess on your location is Etna.

First of all, good luck and congrats for choosing this path! I can definitively relate with everything you shared in this video, as I'm going through the same realizations in the last few years. That's why I also resigned and decided to become a freelancer. (And I'll come back to KZbin sometime). Tho, I believe there is a fifth lever, that could act as multiplier of the other ones. I'm talking about AI. Indeed, I do believe that in the next year, being able to master this technology, will be extremely empowering. As a non technical person, I can already build prototypes (code), translate my content to hundreds of languages in few minutes (media), and even automate a lot of tasks (labour). I'm curious about your opinion on this as you haven't mentioned it in the video. PS: you definitely are in Lanzarote, and the mountain behind you is the "Caldera Blanca".

The difference between the girl and Musk is that the girl is working harder physically but the cognitive work is relatively low, especially if she does the same work everyday. Cognitive overload in corporate/tech job is very stressful and overwhelming sometimes. Hence the salary differences.

@SunglassOrangКүн бұрын
Musk could literally do nothing all day, and he would still be paid the same. His earnings have nothing to do with how much he works, but how much the company makes. You have to be very disconected from reality to propose that a man earning 2 million times more than his employees actually got that from hard work, he could bite the dust and any guy with an MBA takes his job and the company runs fine, just look at Apple. And cognitive work is not by itself better paying, or else einstein and other scientists would be richer, and programmers would not have to fear AI.

There are much smarter people than Musk that work even harder. The difference between Musk and these people is leverage.

IMO it’s important for more folks to acknowledge their privilege as Enrico does, but also not stop there. Those with privilege should share that privilege. To open doors for others, to give the benefit of doubt, to make generous offers to teach and share what we are lucky to know and understand. IMO Enrico, worry less about leveraging KZbin to make something for exponential success after a ramen phase, instead look more towards making our world a better place. We need more people of the Millennial and Gen Z generation to show up, to really try to make a generational effort to turn around this ship that the previous generations have led astray

Safe jobs do exist. Ask any Indian, if you know one. That is the reason that youths of India waste almost a decade of their life preparing for government job exams. I got it one year after college. And then two years into it, I quit. Because I couldn't bear the environment. Some say quit your job, some say do not quit. But everything comes down to the quality & quantity of backup you have and how long it can support you. I had no debt or loans to pay & I had solid backup so I quit. Everyone's situation is different & thus one needs to access their debts & backup before quitting their job. And people need to consume none or less self-help content.
