You are one brave woman! I never quit my job but I was laid off after 21 years and worked at my next job for 5 years and after a takeover, I was laid off again. I was forced to reinvent myself which was challenging but I stuck it out and retired last fall. Whatever I do next will be my own and in the meantime, I am getting inspired by women like yourself. Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words! It was a HUGE move for me to leave my stability and take the leap on my own. But I trusted my gut and went for it! It's been the best move of my life! I am my own boss, do what I want / when I want, and I work my booty off. But I'm loving every moment of watching my business grow.

I wish I had the courage to quit my job. Didn't have to. Just got laid off after 15 years. My dream is to start a business with my family so none of us won't have to rely on others for our financial freedom.

You go girl!!!! I'm so proud and happy for you. I quit my secure 40 hour a week money making job 24 years ago when my daughter was 1. I wanted to raise my daughter and not let daycare do it. Best decision I ever made. But because of that we were down a lot of money. It was hard and we did without but we made it and are stronger because of it. I worked at her school and after my husband came in from work, I cleaned office buildings and I helped my brother on the weekends. All to help make ends meet. After she graduated, I went to work full time for my brother. He is an Event Designer. We do the flowers and decor for weddings and other events. He does amazing work. It's a beautiful business but it is hard work and long hours on the weekend. We, as wives and mothers, are some of the strongest, hardest working people. We're gonna git r done no matter what. Can't wait to hear the rest of your story. Hugs.

I can hardly wait to do this. I gave myself until 55 to be debt free. Then, I will be quitting my job as well and will get something part time like 3 days a week, stocking or inventory. I always say something that doesnt require the brain activity i have put into every job i have had for the past 35 years. Im done being over my head responsible and taking work with me through the weekend and letting it stress me out and affect my sleep. Im just tired. Another motivating factor is the memory of my mom. She saved all the time and when she finally retired, she passed away from cancer at 56. Didnt even get to enjoy her nest egg 💔 im glad glad that now that nest egg takes care of my dad. But i want to be able to enjoy my life and my time, which is so precious. I can always make more money but i cant get back my time. Im so excited for this! 5 years to go🙌

This is so inspiring to me because I am in that boat right now. I have been a real estate paralegal for 13 years and I am like you said, ready to scream. I am a single parent and have been contemplating quitting my job too. I have a few ideas as to what I want to do, and I do believe in myself so I am going to figure out a way to make it work. Soo cool! I took my daughter to get a pedicure. Lady there at her section of salon was her rented area. She did like you did, quit a corporate job and said she made the same as what she made on that job. She didn't want more, she just wanted to enjoy her career. She gets to talk to women all day and increasingly male customers, schedule her own days, glamourous in a beautiful setting. Good luch to you, I'm inspired!

My name is Renee. Im 51 and have been at war with my curly hair all the years of my life. I am so happy I found you by happy accident. You touch down on so many aspects of my life and are very inspiring. I never found a curly haired example for going gray. Where Im at in life of neede=ing desperately to break free of working for someone else and making their dreams come true but not mine. So many things you share hit me right between the eyes lol. You would probably scream if you saw my sons curls. I finally let him grow them long and they are down to his southern hemisphere! He looks like a merman!! He gets stopped by women everywhere complimenting his hair. Anyway, thank you for being you and sharing all you do. Congrats on starting your business. Bless your heart

When she said her job was her health insurance it set me a back. Here in Canada our healthcare is not in anyway connected to our jobs. If we want to quit our jobs to go find a different job we can do so with no worries about losing healthcare. We also have no worries about going into debt or going bankrupt because of healthcare. We have no premiums, no deductibles, no co-pays, no caps on coverage.
@judygoff81933 жыл бұрын
I've looked into working and living in Canada, do bilinguals in Spanish, U.S. citizens have a chance to immigrate and enjoy the great healthcare benefits of Canada? I'm a simple person so I believe I could adapt.

Hi! I don't really have those sticky hairs on wash day. But they do appear on non-wash days. I use Paul Mitchel Skinny Serum to calm my frizzes. Just wet your hands and rub Skinny Serum into hands. Squish and fluff your dry hair with this on your hands. It brings mine back to life and tames any fly away hairs.
