I'm so glad people are finally not giving a 2 weeks notice. The employers don't give employees that courtesy and never have . they don't deserve our respect. Everything you said at the beginning about your mental health is exactly me. I don not get a moment of rest with the pressure of my job and I dread every moment of every day. Even when I'm off, I can't enjoy myself because of the impending doom.

I had told my manager I’m stressed out She goes to say you didn’t finish your shift I said you know what don’t even worry about it I quit and the main cause was do to her up and down behavior one day it clicked I said I’m not doing this and walked out.

I felt the exact same way. It’s been almost a month and I told myself that if I started a job, I was going to at least take this entire month off to give myself a break. I haven’t ever taken a break since I started working. It was very much needed.

10 plus years Call center employee here! EVERYTHING you said is on point! I have coworkers that have had to admit themselves into a mental clinic bcus of how stressful this job is. Also, those weekly meetings are horrible! Then having to tell basically a no one why you are having anxiety or having to explain your mental health is horrible! I’m so glad you quit.

It’s so terrible. When you first start, they act like they truly care, and are willing to work with you/accommodate any problem you have. They really don’t when it comes down to it. Sadly, this is how it is though with most corporate jobs. They damn near expect you to eat sleep and breathe the job like you don’t have a life outside of it.

Worse is that you dont have the option to only work 3 or 4 days a week if you are willing to accept only that much pay for what you worked. They will force you to work 5 days a week unless you are in the medical field where more jobs allow flexible schedules for prorated pay based on the hours you worked.

You have to do what’s best for you. I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t want to work for anyone. I want to be my own boss and run my own business so I’ll be going part time at my current job soon so that I can focus more on my online tshirt brand that I'm currently working on. I’ll be running an online tshirt business and doing pop-up events to sell my tshirts and because I live in nyc it’s popular here. There’s always pop upevents, art street fairs etc so I know I’m in the right city to do this. I’m a creative and I love art, vintage and 90s retro. We have to do what makes us happy. Life’s too short to be at a job we hate everyday. Find what you love doing and focus more on that and try to earn a living doing that and maybe just find a part time job to do also. That’s my advice.😊

I did 2 call center jobs and they were so draining and highly micro managed. My first call center job was a tech support, helping truck drivers troubleshoot their onboard computers. Badly trained. Toxic work environment. Being yelled at for hours on the phone. No support from my boss. This job was the only time i woke up and told myself "nope im not going in anymore." Best decision ever lol. A year later i got another call center job in healthcare. Better than the first job but still draining. After a year and a half there, i told myself if i cant move up in the company to a non-call center position by the end of year, im going to quit. Thankfully i had a great boss and was with a company that supports growth. I got into a better career, no phone tasks at all. I am never going back to call center lol.

I use to work from home I loved it. They took that away and moved our schedules all around and one day I already walked out. Now I am having anxiety attacks. To me women shouldn’t have to work full time if they don’t want to our bodies are enough to deal with.

I hate call centre environments, colleagues were toxic, management was rude, turnover was high with people quitting. Not my cup of tea to constantly take calls. Corporations and governments work with each other and they don't care if people are physically or mentally drained or go insane. People have to remember, you are replaceable, do not give your soul to a company no matter how tough or intimidating they try to be.
@elizmon85263 ай бұрын
Some jobs, are downright demeaning. To be placed under a microscope and having someone mentally on your back - that's literally harassment. So yes it's toxic! Not all corporate jobs even in this field are like this. And yes, when they don't want you there--they will just let you go--NO 2 week notice. They will even dismiss you via a Zoom call. Unfortunately, when you are not employed, recruiters will mess with you and make you feel like you are not "employable". I agree, your mental health is a priority.
@workinprogresssince1974 Жыл бұрын
Thankfully customer care is a sector I've always managed to avoid. I don't like having to deal with people, answer phones or deal with aggressive situations. I'd of crumbled in the first hour! I admire anyone who can stick to a job like that and not quit. I am also a big advocate for quitting jobs that are bad for your physical / mental health. It is never worth the money to sacrifice your mind and body.
@mariancounsellor Жыл бұрын
Your backup plan is savings then. Having no money to pay the bills is possibly the reason most people don’t quit their jobs without a plan. It only switches from one type of stress to another type of stress if there’s no plan.

I was at a patient scheduler job for 3 months. Within those 3 months, three people quit including my boss, I was told I was hired out of desperation and I was verbally abused by a coworker. That same coworker leaves every day at 2:30 because she was part time, it was only me after that because the two other people quit, I was getting home at 6 pm or 7 every day, my neck was starting to get tense with stress, same thing was happening with my boss and she was a practice nurse. Once she left, they brought in some hospital administrator who was using different software technologies to hopefully fix the over whelming amount of patients we have but that only made it worse for the employees. I left two weeks ago. I will take my experience and look elsewhere. Already had a call from a hospital to be a scheduler, but I feel I would be put right back into the fire 🔥. Thank you for this video. Don’t give up people!

jobs are not easy and you have got to learn that there is always going to be bad and good things in any job. At the end of the day you are paid for it and have to grow thick skin. I have had bad and good experiences with work but you shouldn't care what people think of you. I know what it's like and my managers are unlikable monsters. But my mind set is it's there problem not yours. Stay strong and remember people are morons.

I’m a Claim Adjuster for an insurance company. I’m mentally drained and the only reason and the only thing that’s stopping me from logging in morning is because I have a 1 year old that depends on me. I absolutely HATE progressive! I have never in my life felt so little, and micro-managed. Everytime I’m told to go into coaching, I already know I’m being put on some sort of verbal or warning. I’m so happy I found your video. Everyone keeps telling me to pray 🙏🏾. I’m doing the best I can everyday but I can’t take it anymore. I sometimes have heart palpitations on Sunday nights knowing I have to log on monday mornings. It’s so hard finding remote positions that pay well.. and God knows, if I had a savings, I would have done what you did! ❤😢

Research FMLA as well as ADA. Ask your doctor to put you off on state disability. Heal yourself while you are off, and start looking for a job. The important thing is to put your company on notice that you have a protected medical condition.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a similar experience late 2021 and had vlogged briefly about it on my channel. Sometimes I ask myself if I ever regretted quitting back then. I can honestly say that I don't, even when facing a long unemployment. I did do a few contract jobs after that but at least the depression from unemployment was less intense than the one I was in back then. I felt trapped, could not do anything to make things better for myself because I was the only logical person who could do most of the work. I had breakdowns in the office, tears for all to see. And I felt anger a lot which affected my family. I was never a quitter even though I cried many times that I would. It was when I started feeling chest palpitations and had trouble sleeping that I knew I had to quit before I really had serious health issues. I wish you all the best in finding your next job. After quitting, I was unemployed for 6 months, worked contract jobs for a total of 8 months and then unemployed again. Although it was a short stint, my mental health was better and I was paid higher. Now I'm in search for the next job.

When I started to see the possibility of new administration at my job, my first instinct was to start looking. It is always easier to find a new job when you already have a job.
