I think that more and more we're forced to face life as an emotionless machine: you study for around 17 years, you work until you're 60 something and then you "enjoy" your retirement for 20 or so years. But life doesn't have to be like this and it's videos like these that really show that the best thing someone can do is to just say "to hell with it" and follow what they really love doing. I wish you the best of luck and your fans will for sure keep trying their best to support you and you art. Never change Jake! Love from Portugal

First time I came across your channel was the Kendrick Lamar video. The intro was very captivating and the entire experience from the video was enjoyable, it helped me relive some of the memories I had growing up listening to Kendrick and it seemed you had a familiar experience. It's refreshing to listen to you articulate those feelings associated with the artists you make videos about and be able to relate to it - and of course the presentation/visuals are very sick too. It's quite crazy watching you explain this transition because I feel like I'm on a similar path, recently just quit my job and am trying to create a business out of software development ideas I have. I'm a bit restrained financially so won't be able to support your patreon right away but I will be tuning into your future releases and am wishing you the best of luck in pursuing your dreams. ps. I really hope you manage to get that Mac Miller video back up lol!

just found your account recently, been slowly diving into your videos watching them one by one every day either to go with my breakfast or lunch. the video that got me was the bad bunny documentary…so well produced and captivating. must i say, i feel your storytelling and videography skills are very moving and inspiring as you provide great bios along with the application of these successful people to our own abilities…a way of making these famous people feel like they’re us because you show the doubt, difficulties, and obstacles they had to go through before the triumph. as an aspiring creative, i find all these videos nourishing and motivating as i battle with the challenges of self-doubt, self-discipline, and consistency for creating. and thank you for being very genuine and sharing your process and intention behind your creations. i know i am two years late to the original post of this video but i am glad to see that quitting your job worked out and you’re still creating doing what you love ! i look forward to watching all your other videos, much love, ivan

Good luck 😉. I really enjoyed this video. Can’t wait to say ‘I remember when he quit his job’ when you are at 1 million+ subs 😊. It’s awesome that you have a sort of ‘formula’ right now that will guarantee steady growth, but I’d love to see what other types of videos you could make! Right now you may think you’re just a fan sharing with other fans, but one day you’ll have your own fans.

I did the same thing last year November brother. I'm a writer and can't see myself doing anything else. The future still makes me nervous every day, but I try to just focus on the work I am doing now and let each day unfold as it does. As long as I am doing what I want to do, all is well. What you spoke about with regards to our mortality played a huge part in the decision I took to quit my job also. So far it's the best decision I have ever made, if that becomes the worse decision I ever made then fuck it, I won't stop writing either way. Good luck to you brother.
