Im an LPN and was working in LTC through an agency getting paid really good money and thought I’d stay doing that through my LPN to RN journey but yesterday was my final straw. Now I’m doing pediatric home health and the only thing with this is finding a stable patient which I have but home health offers the flexibility and money as well, $40 to $43 hourly and it’s so much down time for studying. I love it💗 no going back to these dumpster fire of facilities.

That’s really good. I had some classmates that worked in home health while we were in school.

Is it hard to make that kind of money In home health as a new Grad?

Just watching this video. Thank you very much! I just resigned from this LTC after 7 months .. I am transferring to a rehabilitation center. I am burned out and I thought I was losing my mind because I am fairly new and I tried to give it a chance but it is too much!!! I love being a nurse but my employment at the LTC was literally killing my love for nursing

Watching this video while I'm sitting in this ltc facility irritated as hell. I'm a PRN RN on a floor that runs 2 nurses. Got here and I'm the ONLY nurse with 40 patients. I'm completely over this bull!

Thank you for sharing your Pros and Cons on working in a long term nursing facility. I am experiencing exactly what you are talking about and have been threatening to quit my job thinking this is just unrealistic how these facilities work their nurses! I see I just need to hang in there a little longer to get my experience and move on! I’m used to working in a clinic as a MA, but my previous job wouldn’t hire me as an inexperienced LVN.

Yess, just get your experience and get away from there.

I know it, I thought about going to another LTC facility but I got the same stories from their employees as well.

This was also my experience in LTC as an aide and why I refuse to go back when I become a nurse.

Thank you for this information. I just got my license last week and I want to go to LTC to get experience to do travel/agency nursing for flexibility during my LPN/RN bridge program. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I just got licensed and chose to go the ltc route for the pay n they were offering IV certifications but I know working in this setting there will be bs so I’m giving it a month tops and after I receive my certifications if I’m not comfortable I’m leaving before I put my license at risk
@NurseBreeNacole Жыл бұрын
Good for you because you definitely put your license at risk working at places like this.

The pay in LTC is not worth the stress, liability, and unrealistic expectations.

Triple rooms??!! NAW! Administration lying cuz I would've faked a call from the vet telling me my goldfish in distress and I have to come right away. They would have never seen me again! Picture me rolling!! 😂

I worked at a nursing home that had a quadruple room at the end of each hall. Needless to say I lasted 9 months; that was it lol 😂

There's a reason ltc has such a high turnover rate. It's draining. I'm getting out.

Hello everyone, I considering taking entrance test to LON school. I have an interest in two different schools evening only, caring for elderly mom. Q: if I take this zLPN entrance test and pass🙏, will I be able to transfer results to either school, I don’t wanna have to take it twice. Plz., advise if this is an option or I may just ask the advisor at the school, something I prefer not to ask.

How Many nurses, I wonder, would want their own family members in a LTC facility?
@NurseBreeNacole6 ай бұрын
Exactly especially after seeing them in those conditions.

Do you find yourself being burned out working in a hospital setting?
@NurseBreeNacole Жыл бұрын
Honestly, not really, it just depends on the group of pts I have. Some times I have days where it’s a breeze and other times I’m running around the entire shift. So I will say it’s a balance between the two.

I know this is an old video, but so glad that I came across it. I am a seasoned nurse and I am looking for a PRN job. I was considering LTC, but after watching this no more.
