Oh wow! I had been basing my entire search off whether a hospital offered a residency program or not. My first job had one and it was great, if I could’ve done just the residency program first before working the floor I would’ve stayed lol. They taught us a lot in that residency and it was so hands. They even had a SIMS lab that terrified me lol

if you don’t mind me asking, what quality improvement project did you do?

Myself and like 5 others that were hired on my unit did a project on if patients understood what NPO means. We are a surgical floor a lot of the patients wouldn’t know what it means so they would still eat or drink. We basically made signs for the rooms stating that it means not to eat or drink. We also made a survey and interviewed all the patients to see what percentage knew what it means vs those that didn’t. So we basically made me signage for our floor that explained it.

Did you get paid less during orientation or was there no change in pay?
@NurseBreeNacole Жыл бұрын
No, I made my starting nurse pay when I was on orientation. So nothing changed when I finished the program.
