Congratulations Katie!!! I’m so proud of you! I love how you’re not afraid to get out of a situation that isn’t good for your spirit. So many of us nurses stay in toxic and unhappy situations out of fear. I love that you live fearlessly with God leading you!!! I hope you enjoy your new position and that night shift treats your body well. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!! ❤️❤️❤️

I traveled for 8 years in ICU and really enjoyed it for that season of my life. The majority were nightshifts, but I liked that. Congratulations on your next chapter.

YESSSS join the club! I make more in 1 week that I did in 1 month as a staff RN . You’ll never go back to staff nursing again. If you want to extend put day shift in your contract for the next round.

Exactly I heard of a story where most of the nurses quit at one hospital and just did travel nursing at the other hospital 30 minutes away and the nurses at that hospital did the same.

Hey Katie! How did you find local travel contracts? I thought to be considered a traveler, you have to travel out of state, or a certain number of miles from home?
@Katherine_Ann3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cory! That actually isn't fully true! Some facilities have contracts for local travelers specifically other facilities just tax you a different way!
@theshinythings1232 жыл бұрын
You just have to find travel agencies that don't care.

How do you get around that so called "50 mile rule" for taxes? How does the pay vs stipends work when you are local?

@@Katherine_Ann I've noticed some facilities post "There is a mileage limit of 100 miles in order to be considered a traveler for this role". It really must vary by company.

Congrats. It's best that you left your old job if there was friction with your employer. It wouldn't have been worth the frustration and you'll probably be making more bank now too. I wouldn't be able to handle the overseas work, but if you find it fulfilling then your heart is in a good place. Good luck and God Bless.
