This is easily the greatest series this publisher has ever been attached to. It’s unfortunate that this is actually a really good PF fighter, limited by the lack of willing investment on Nicks part. Considering how much they fixed from the first game to its sequel, it’s almost unfair that it is where it is now, but we can only hope a 3rd will be made at some point and… somehow surpass the budget (very unlikely)

After the Rocksteady update I’m probably gonna call it quits too, the campaign is probably the main thing bringing me back, but even then it’s mostly for the interactions between the various cast members, and I’m glad they’re keeping it fresh with new perks, but there’s so much I can take. I definitely feel for NASB3 they should basically keep most of the content from the previous game instead of remaking it from the ground up again, and focus on getting some of the returning fighters from the first game back (Toph, Leo, Mike, HUGH, and Catdog) alongside way more new series rather than more vetran series like this game. I definitely want this series to succeed but I feel like third time is either the charm or it’ll be the final strike out.

Turns out rocksteady somehow made the game thrive just as much as Mr Krabs. Thankfully he did too, because after the disaster that was multiversus's relaunch, this game has really made me appreciate how amazing it was. Also I finally got the All Star rank, which I thought would never happen since when this vid came out I had to fight nothing but aprils and korras and it was not fun, but fortunately I had a relatively smooth experience to the top.

Nickelodeon did this series so wrong. It just needed some promotion, but they just love to put out games and then forget about them. I still might get the game down the line for the single player content, and the first one is still an absolute blast to play. Played it locally with my nephew not too long ago, and we'll probably play it more. Lumosity and Fair Play Labs definitely deserved better.

That's how I feel about the Nickelodeon Kart Racers series as well. I wish they would give Nick Kart Racers 3 the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course treatment. Give the game more characters, vehicles, and courses to race on. I have a feeling that they might release a Nickelodeon Kart Racers 4 later this year since they love releasing a new game every two years. I wouldn't be surprised if a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 3 drops next year.

This video literally came up at the perfect time for me. I just recently made it to All-Star Rank with solo SpongeBob, and while I did have fun, the struggle was real. And I feel that more than ever the game is constantly crashing online. I’m not joking when I say that probably 1/4 of the rank points I’ve lost is from the game crashing and me having to restart. I do really love this game, but I’m seriously wondering if it’s even worth trying to reach 1200 rank points now unless I pick up a different character.

This was a good watch. As a Tournament Organizer for NASB 2, I can relate to most of these issues. One note that was left out of the video, Crossplay is on all systems on this game. Steam alone is just one of the playerbases. Now does Crossplay magically boost numbers by alot, no. But there are more out there. 2. There is the NASB official Discord, and NASB Grinders discord. There you can catch everyone, and all the tourneys that happen. Just like Rivals of Aether, most of the stuff happens in there. I do hope the team gets better with balancing. Some characters options are just too great and safe in this game, I won't lie. But it's close to being a awesome game. Will the game peak again, no, just like Rivals 1 has it's own little dedicated community. but I hope more folks do give it a try. 1.9, the next update soon, does have alot of changes coming.

I had a similar experience recently with this game. I respect the HELL outta you for getting up to 1200+ in ranked. I got to 1040, realized my rank said All star and dropped ranked almost entirely. And like you said, 95% of the cast is so unfun to fight just due to how overtuned they all are and when you’re me playing plankton (AKA the character that got nerfed HARD in beta testing) getting zero to deathed cause one of my aerials got blocked is agonizing

This is probably the only game that has more bugs the more updates it has. Its what i was afraid of since the beginning. If only GameMill knew how to delay shit, it would've been something amazing, and we probably wouldn't have gotten this half baked roster (which is ironic because Zuko, one of the fire benders, was the only reason I bought the game in the first place).

If there were to be a NASB 3, I'd still think it'd be cool to see Making Fiends and Doug get reps, even though I know both will never happen… 1 because Nick hasn't mentioned Making Fiends once ever since the Nicktoons Network stopped airing reruns of the show, and 2 since Disney owns the Doug IP, Nickelodeon is in no legal right to create anything actually new that involves that particular series in a direct manner (they can continue to re-use and distribute the artworks, seasons and other media created specifically for them though, with the most recent being from 2023… This seems to likely be why the Disney seasons don't re-use any of the music from the Nick seasons)

Ugh....yeah..they need something like the Nicktoons Unite series of games again. The dedicated crossover aspect, the care to have legit banter, the explorable locations. Sure they were imperfect but At least THQ had a good track record for releases, and even then when it changed hands, it ended strong with Globs of Doom. I know Quinton did a retrospective of it (even if it had WAY too much time wasting and questionable choices in its construction/pacing) but im curious to know what your thoughts on it are, considering how radically different in gameplay and content the games are from console to handheld. (For example, Mr. Blik is playable in the DS version of Toybots, which itself is a beat-em-up)

What were they thinking? Instead of fixing the first game with a relaunch, they instead drop a dlc and repackage it and sell it again for full price. I had another game (i cant remember the title) that required you to uninstall and reinstall when they bumped to a new engine. They already had a niche community then they split it by enraging fans and even cutting characters. They failed properly promote. Etc. If you want to last in this space with a juggernaut like smash, you need to innovate, have community events, and be extremely active.

The main biggest problem i had isnt simply the bugs, the lack of players now, nor the rosters figbting style (i like a lot of them but some i dont like at all), i can handle or get through those. No, the main reason i let go of this game and only play every once a while with friends is because there wasnt any real future planned for this game. Like when i heared there was gonna be 4 dlc characters i thought that was gonna be a character per month and we'd get a new season of characters coming soon but so far i've heard nothing at all. Whats worse is that the dlc characters are mostly poop. Mr.krabs is cool but shouldve been in the base game tbh. Zuko shouldve been in base game as well instead of azula Iroh shouldve only needed to be a dlc character and now we have like 3 fire benders and no toph or any other bender to enjoy really. And...who the heck wanted rocksteady? Honestly who in the team thought out of the tmnt characters we couldve had they picked half of a duo that people enjoy? And i have no hope for future dlc characters. After rocksteady theyre either going to move on to a sequel or do nothing about it. Its a shame. If it was up to me i'd pick for the dlc characters to be literally any chracter from shows that arent in yet. We need to have as many reps from the diverse nickelodeon shows to make this gamr really about "the all stars" of nickelodeon.
