Nah, the game is really barebones from a content perspective and online is practically a fastpass to high blood pressure with how people that are clearly worse than you get away with so much garbage. Doesn't matter if you have better combos/fundamentals when defensive options give everybody a million chances to get out, and even if you know the counterplay to something you're still gonna get caught because of trashass connections since godforbid we move on from delay-based netcode in FUCKING 2024. Lackluster offline experience and an abysmal dogshit online experience leaves this game incredibly dry of anything praiseworthy if you're not fascinated by jingling keys.

It could take days of that before you get a handle of doing it consistently, and there is a practice option that teaches you the input. Once you can do it consistently, THEN you should hop online and start working on the timing with the online input delay.

I think to many people hate on DP battle because people run 5 man teams. you can run what ever you want. the issue typically when people are running those teams and you run high cost characters is that your not confirming the kills. You need to hit with damage that will be lethal from an unexpected range. On top of that I find most 5 man teams are heavily lacking in some areas, where a single character like a giant can entirely wipe the 5 man by himself. Though i will say ranked isnt that fun due to the time and the number of players running away while picking 19 and 20. Since they can infinitely run away without any penalty. Meanwhile singles no matter how you look at it there are approximately 7 or so characters used if you want to win. While for DP I've seen at least 1/3 of the character roster be used at least to some extent. I get the I don't like meta thing and I only want to play what I want to play. However I feel like Singles are more the for fun game mode, while DP is the more "competitive" game mode. though that being said whats really fun for DP is custom lobbies with friends and picking wide arrays of teams.

I just only run Whis in singles now. Tired of the same cheese tactics and same characters every other game. Most of the cheesers don't know how to defend against aggressive rush attacks and impact/charged attacks. Whis can rack up 10-20k damage in combos + follow up attacks. Even quick 4-5 hit combos will do 5k damage. The fusion and UI mains never want to rematch. The mocking camp voicelines are the cherry on top.

TBH the Yajirobe never ran away to heal. literally every time he healed was because Lotus got comboed into a heal. So not really accurate to say that he ran away to heal, since the yajirobe was throwing hands the entire time. Not saying its not cheap or anything, but that statement is 100% inaccurate. Also its not really all that hard to deal with build up your point meter on gogeta without going sparking, then force the yajirobe to heal, when he does you insta sparking. Then combo him and ult, that is about 60-70% of his hp down, after the ult go and do another insta sparking, then repeat. That is the easiest way to kill Yajirobe with near guaranteed success. Is it annoying that you basically need to spend 6 points on a character to kill, yes. Though that is what it is. You can also play a character with an unblockable ult like broly z. Then combo into special, then rush up to yajirobe and ult and he will die as well. Work smarter not harder is the best way to describe how to beat Yajirobe.

Can we be all the way honest: this game is not meant to be taken seriously at all. We played this when we were 7-13 years old. That’s who it’s still made for. It’s not meant to be competitive in the slightest. Our old grown asses have no reason to get upset over this game when there’s other actual competitive fighting games. We didnt have online in og budakai so don’t care to really to try it now. This game played on the nostalgia big time and it’s fine for wat it is but the hype around this game was blown way out of proportion. As soon as I knew this was an arena fighter and not a sequel to DBFZ, I saw the writing on the wall. If the dragonball ip wasn’t attached to it, no one would play these games fr. Same thing with the storm series. That’s 85% of the selling point, not the game itself. Especially if u remember early early dragonball games. Just be patient for fighterz 2 which may or may not happen tbh.

Yes, I do agree. Still, it is worth saying that skill can be beaten pretty easily by anybody. Sure, it is a skill issue. However, it's super easy to get like 4 or 5 sparking's off in one match. Just wait for the opponent to do anything and bam unblockable. And online has a different timing for the super counter, depending on connection. Players will get better, but that really isn't enough to stop all cheese. Just have fun and cheese too.
