Have been very interested to see how PvP goes with this game. Daedream team is good early strat since you can get their collar at level 8, and early game having 5 daedreams out will just annihilate everything early game; it's super annoying for when you're trying to capture pals but in a PvP situation, definitely a good way to get an early on advantage while you're still trying to build up.

This video actually shows the main problem with PvP in Palworld. It only works well when players are close to the same level. Like they both start at level 1 simultaneously and then race to beat the other. This is your classic PvP form factor from like Age of Empires. In normal game play it will fall flat when a new player logs into a server and encounters a level 50 player with level 50 pals. This established player is magnitudes more powerful, like 100 to 1000 times more powerful than that new player. This is like squashing bugs for the established player and not at all like fun PvP. No idea what would fix this, as I don't see this as fixable in sandbox style game like this one, so never play PvP in those. I did enjoy it in Age of Empires though, back in the day.

yes this is so true it does remind for age of empires so much thinking like that. its the hardest thing to fix. maybe a mechanic if players fight their level becomes even and tames too. like mmos sometimes do

its easy to fix with scaling... just make higher levels do extremely less dmg to players that are lower then them by a huge gap.

@@tylenolrx7699Another way is to do it how they did it in a similar game, ARK. ARK has a separate game, Survival Of The Fittest. A battle royal where everyone starts from level 1 and progresses at the same time until just one player is left and wins. Could last about an hour and would use pals and all the weapons from Palworld, but be on a separate map and be a separate game. Now that would be a lot more fun than Palworld with some scaling mechanism.

palworld conquest like in ark would be so fucking epic, imagine just 100 players working together, being able to tame all the pals they can, with no limit, no cave building, working together for epic pvp, breeding, harvesting recourses. i wanna see that.

PvP is actually optional if you host a dedicated server in the server settings file. You /can/ tick it on, just I don't think it's fully finished yet for implementation into official servers.

Make a libero raid right next to the strongest base you can find and it'll cut it down in one shot with dark beam then use grappling hooks x4 to escape back to your pal box for a fast travel at 200k+ weight

i can tell you how to activate PVP, but the sad part is it is not working correctly no matter how you do it at the moment... i can not get the pals in base to defend against players, wont work... activating pvp is easy tho

@@Official_Dominatus we're in australia - the official servers are worse then cancer for the lag, like we're all used to a certain level of lag or lag spikes in games but for palworld it's on the level of stationary teleporting, even if you aren't moving, nothing quite like chilling next to a fire then being rubber banded half the distance between fast travel points into the ocean and dying all whilst doing absolutely nothing. You'll use several dozen pal balls to get one successfully hitting. Throw someone else into the mix and yeah nah. The Palworld servers and even community ones can be absolutely soul destroying because the game just can't handle too many players especially as you get further away from the server host irl.

@@auretioustaak6579 Ahhh that makes a lot more sense! Hopefully they will quickly resolve a lot of these backend issues. From what I have witnessed they have put 100x more focus on fixes over content. So much so I can basically say they already fixed more issues (or at least tried to) in their first patch then Wild Card devs fixed during the lifespan of Ark lol

yeah we had the capture rate tuned too high to start we balanced it now. this server was set up to test pvp so tried to take some grind out to get end game and check balance

Weak, capture rates and such all high up there so no challenge and no gain to raid ppl when its so easy to gain that same stuff anyway :D I also doubt you PvP alot, absolutely no predictment of movement or anything at all when shooting or throwing balls XD hilarious to watch..

And it's still number 2 on the steam active player list despite massive drop off. So yeah, nice opinion, but the majority of gamers say you should probably focus on games that you enjoy instead of raging at games you don't enjoy that the majority of players do.
