But I will say that I've seen many videos of the "hammershot vs. strongarm" debate, you have a very great point. The strongarm has a higher rate of fire and firing options, against the single handed use of the hammershot. And over on the opposing side, like you've already mentioned, you can have the hammershot in on hand and your primary, or a flag as stated by Coop, while you run away. All of these are valid points, and this debate can go on forever without an end in sight. But still, in the end, we're just having fun and flinging foam projectiles.

The sledgefire is a little big, what i did is i took one of the shells, and modded a mega Bigshock to shoot the shell, it it does ok at close ranges, although the shell is fixed in there, so you have to front load the darts one at a time.

I took the decorative plates off the bigshock, cut a little bit off the barrel, removed the dart post, added a 2nd spring to boost power, then glued on an add adapter like device, which basically acts like a funnel, spreading the air out evenly, then glued the shell to that. (thats the short explanation, i could go into more detail, but it'd be pretty long)

There's so many things I disagree with here, hammershot fanboys or not. What are the problems you've had with the hammershot? Nothing but problems you say, in a video mostly bashing the hammershot and the people who use them, mentioning none of the issues. Who are these people saying you "must" use it? Also, the 3:15 question, yes probably screwed, but who's worse off after that miss? Guy with 4/5 shots, or 0/1? Slings. If you have to reach for a sidearm in an emergency, your main hand is going to get to it far before your off hand even clears the primary dropping. Yes you should still have a sling, but it doesn't benefit what I think most (many? several? some?) players are using a secondary for, which is a holdout. Reading between the lines, what you're actually talking about is using a second primary and not a secondary.

Tedrocks 41 Any secondary lets you fire back at your opponent when out of ammo in your primary, one-handed or not. One-handed usability is nearly pointless. Your primary should be on a sling, and if it's not you're doing it wrong. You can make an effective sling out of freakin' duct tape. Again, I don't know why you hammershot fanboys are so dead-set on your blaster, it's fine if you like it but you'll come up with every excuse you can to make it seem like it's a DIRE REQUIREMENT FOR EVERYONE WHO NERFS. In my opinion there is no better or worse "sidearm" in Nerf (maybe besides the jolt, triad, and firestrike which are meh) it mostly comes down to the individuals' play-style and what THEY feel comfortable with. Sure it might not be the right choice for ALL game types but let them live and learn to see what works better or worse for THEM. Sure they can look at all these reviews, what people think of whatever blaster, and maybe some mod guides. Though this video is 2 years old, I still do disagree from a practical standpoint. Every Strongarm I’ve had ownership of has not performed up to par. I would load a slightly worn dart in and it would spit it out a foot forward. Sometimes it even did this with new darts. Other times the cylinder wouldn’t come out all the way, or it would get in the way of me reloading. At times the prime would be uncomfortable, and others I would blast 6 shots at the first guy only to be picked off by the second. By the way, 2/6-4/6 of the shots would be duds. But those are only the gun’s shortcomings. Other than that, most of the time my 5’2” baby hands (prior to that not even 5’) can’t even slamfire the thing efficiently. Also, the grip to me is uncomfortable. And the swing out cylinder just hampers my reloads more than it helps. I much prefer to just load through the front (The Disruptor fixes this issue). I prefer the Hammershot (specifically the Saeet Revenge model and friends), because it fits better in my hands and I have won many wars with it. Mine both have 10kg springs and will soon have 8 dart cylinders and upgraded hammers/triggers I find the thumb prime much easier to do than the top prime because I can use gravity to aid in the process. Most of the time I don’t use or need slamfire from my sidearm because I use a Tri-Strike, so the point there is mute. Also, the Strongarm is a more complicated blaster and harder to modify (I can do it, but I can’t do it in a few minutes like I can a Hammershot). Besides, the Hammershot to me looks cooler and actually feels like a revolver when I use it instead of some weird mashup of a semi auto pistol and the former. Besides that I do think the one handed priming is a big deal, because that’s less steps I have to go through to reprime when I’m doing something such as capping a flag. If I have to pull my gun off target that’s just a slower time for me to get back on target. I like spinning the Hammershot more. It’s just a better blaster to me. Anyway, I respect your opinion Walcok, but I personally could not disagree more.

To be completely frank with you, I personally enjoy the Hammershot over the Strongarm for the look and ease of modification. Properly modded, (which isn't hard to accomplish, even from a novice standard.) it has the capacity to put darts accurately down range. While you loose that duel-wielding (which I don't do, as I value accuracy from my sidearms), you can still take out targets in confined spaces. It's ideal for arenas with long corridors. From a looks, it appeals to me because it does what a revolver is suppose to do. At the end of the day, I'd take my Hammershot over the Strongarm any day as my sidearm. It's my opinion, and I'm not seeking to persuade you to see my way. You're welcome to your choice.

i just carry a modulus, demolisher and pocketstrike with a bunch of ammo clips including some rampage and raider drums and dual wield flywheel blasters and have the pocket strike (I forgot what I meant before but definitely not the pocket strike) for 1 handed if i need to use it and a strongarm if i dont die by the time i run out of ammo on the pocketstrike. If you have a problem carrying and running holding a modulus and demolisher and all the extra stuff, you may be under 10 years old. ( I don't have a Stryfe)

In the choice of hammer-action, I'd use a Doublestrike (or two if I'm feeling ballsy) because the shorter distance between the trigger and hammer make it a much easier prime for me.

Okay on the off chance that this isn't a troll comment (because that profile picture makes me think this is), let me tell you why you're objectively wrong when you say "the Hammershot is MUCH better than the Strongarm" 1. the strongarm holds more ammunition - 6>5. That's simple math. And don't say "oh but there are aftermarket kits for the hammershot that hold up to 8 darts", because there's a strongarm kit that bumps it up to 10 darts. Strongarm still wins. 2. Slam-fire - the best thing a nerf sidearm can have ever. Like walcom says, in the time it takes you to prime your hammershot, i can unload six darts into you. And yeah, the hammershot can technically be fanned but the ranges while doing that are subpar and you really can't do that without that fancy metal extended hammer (i think it's a blasterparts kit?) 3. there is no reason for you to shoot one-handed. even if there was, why are you using a hammershot when you could be using something that is better at singlehanding, like a stryfe or a barricade? Again, like walcom said, if you're shooting people while carrying the objective, you are not doing your job, and your team is probably going to kick your ass. I realize that this is a little overkill when it comes to the strongarm vs hammershot argument, but i'm tired of hearing about it.

KillerTVmovies Some people like me dislike flywheel blasters. I prefer springers because they're silent and can keep consistent ranges, and even get higher ranges if you push forwards when you fire. I dual wield a Sweet Revenge and a Hammershot, and they work very well. A single bullet in the Strongarm doesn't make up for the easy one-handed operation of the Hammershot considering it's extremely viable for use if you're reloading your primary.

If you're in a situation where your primary is down for whatever reason and someone surprises you, you don't need to be able to shoot one-handed. you need to be able to shoot as many darts at them as possible and then get your primary working again. The hammershot cannot do this. With a hammershot, you might get one shot off, maybe. A strongarm, roughcut, stryfe, sledgefire, anything that can fire multiple darts in a short space of time is your best friend, because the odds of that one dart from your hammershot tagging the person out are ridiculously slim.

You say "i have had nothing but problems" with the Hammershot. What issues... would you elaborate? With some simple modifications my HS's (Actually Sweet Revenges) shoot amazing with all but the most worn darts, and if we're talking word darts, they affect everything negatively. So what's your problems with the HS?

Well, i don't know about walcom, but my issues with the hammershot family mostly comes from their hair trigger. It's unfortunately very easy to accidentally strike the trigger while drawing the blaster, causing a misfire which can easily screw you. The lack of slamfire is also a bit of a turn-off but i can still see the appeal to the hammershot's one-handed operation and reliable feeding, although i have encountered an issue with one of mine where it skips barrels sometimes. None of the other ones i own do this so that particular one is probably a lemon.

I like the strongarm better than the hammershot-types. But if I had to pick, i'll carry the sweet revenge as a backup on myself due to its smaller profile. And probably the fact that it comes with a holster i can already clip on my belt.

I still swear by my hammershot, not as a backup if my primary goes down, but if I'm carrying an objective item such as a briefcase, flag or what have you, the one hand operation of the hammershot means I don't have to be helpless when carrying something cumbersome in one hand.

These are some of the reasons why I use a Stockade over a Hammershot. Much easier single-wielding and faster max ROF. And yes, I WOULD use two, because if I'm running into a junction in CQB I would need to cover more than one direction.

Strongarm - shaky body parts, pretty consistent shots and almost 'undodgable' in mid ranges. 6 dart capacity, a gun u are pretty much still gonna have faith on in a war. Hammershot - very stable build and paintjob, aesthetically appealing, single hand operation, not accurate after 4 metres, u can 'de-cock' it if u wish, smaller than strongarm, front heavy, 5 dart capacity, totally a gun u still have a thought of duel wielding, a better option for TTT and hide and seek games only.
