Not long to go until I race the Berlin Marathon and this training block has built and built, peaking at my biggest mileage week ever: 108 miles. Today I take you with me for a day of training and I also break down my highest mileage week ever, up here in Flagstaff Arizona.. will it be enough for me to run my fastest marathon ever? Time will tell...

I love that Daniel shows up in the middle of the video and then makes the editorial decision to leave himself in. I'm all about that energy.

I love the current trend with KZbin runners admitting to bad days as well as good days, it must be quite hard to open yourself up and admit to this, bearing your soul almost, but as an amateur runner I feel that this is the reality and I can relate to it so much….keep up the great work Philly

It's not only running community. Seems like everywhere I look today everybody is complaining and talking about their struggles. As long as a person stays true to herself like Phily her supporters will always appreciate her honesty

not Allie O telling me strides DON'T count toward weekly mileage and Phily telling me they DO in the same two week period 😂 for the record I always count them!

My mileage is low enough that four to six strides makes a small but noticeable difference in my totals, especially if I do it twice in a week, so I definitely count them!

Regarding the matt, maybe you can do (if you haven't already) a video on your warmup routine. I feel like I should do more (if I remember I manage to do a few things), but all videos on it feels like they have just a massive amount of things I should do, and it just becomes difficult to do everything every time.

I finally landed on targeting the areas that I've learned tend to niggle me (hips, calves). We are all an experiment of one.

I've loved following this block! Your past videos got me through my training for my first marathon, where I ended up going 3h 36m, just a little bit off my goal. The past few months I've been building up in preparation for the 2025 Houston marathon, where I'll be aiming for a 3h 25m. At the moment, my base mileage is 80kpw, or 50mph, which was what my previous marathon training block's peak was. I'm expecting to peak around 100kpw, or 65mpw, this time, and while it'll likely be a long time before I'm hitting 100 mile weeks, I'd like to thank you for your transperency, for sharing your own journey, and for channeling that motivation in all of us. Love the Grind!

100k subs, it will be easy Phily. I am sure you channel sponsors will be able to help promote the channels , either by supporting content or in some other capacities. When back in the UK it would be great to do some supporter meet up runs, park run or some track work. Your content is spot on and very informative and an easy enjoyable watch. Super strong training .

Interested to hear your thoughts on when to arrive at the race city, if you cross multiple time zones. I’m running the Paris marathon in April, and I live in San Francisco which is 9 hours behind France. A couple of years ago, I ran the Nice half, and arrived two days beforehand. I was still on SF time, so jet lag wasn’t an issue, but digestion problems were. Earlier this month, I landed in France a week before a race (on vacation, not specifically for the race), and jet lag was a huge issue, so I didn’t run - I was too much of a zombie. It probably varies by person, but how do you and other pros deal with jet lag and foreign diets?

Great video as always Philly. Really great to get an insight into the life of someone running elite times. I wonder if you can answer a question I have: do you pay any attention to the “efficiency” in the Coros app? If you do, how do you judge it, or do you just go off how you personally felt about the run?
