I clicked on this video because of the title but after a few minutes, I completely forgot about the shoes and I watched the rest of the video because of the motivation and determination and persistence of this guy! About giving up... Sometimes, everything in you will scream at you to give up. You’ll find yourself searching for reasons, for excuses to quit and if you do, initially, you’ll convince yourself that it was the right choice. However, in the long run, giving up will leave you with a sad, disappointing memory. You’ll look back with regret, wishing you had held on just a little longer. If you refuse to give up, you will not only prove to yourself that you can do it but you will also create a memory that you’ll look back at and smile. At the end of the day, memories is all that remains when everything else fades away. So, try to create as many memories as you can that you'll gladly watch back with a smile!

Hey man. I just came across your video and it feels inspiring to me seeing you go through this journey. I'm a swimmer in college and I've been trying to reach a sub 6-minute 500 meter freestyle. I spent a whole year trying to reach that goal only to end my season with a 6:00:22, .23 of a millisecond away from my goal. To make it worse, a guy on my team, who didn't even know how to swim, and started a semester later than me, ended up beating my time with around a 5:30, while I felt like I spent my entire life swimming and couldn't make it. It felt humiliating and I've stopped swimming since. This video just felt relatable to me on many levels and I know how frustrating it is to just not be able to achieve this goal you felt like you dedicated your whole life and training to. I hope to start swimming again and be able to achieve this goal but at the moment, it feels depressing to start again. I hope that one day, we are both able to achieve our goals so continue working at it!
