I'm currently 12 days into a planned 16 day running streak to accumulate 161k/100 miles during that time period (averaging 10k per day)! This video has inspired me to run everyday for a month, Jan 2020 seems like a great way to start off the New Year! Love the Running Channel! I agree with all of Anna's points, more laundry, some days tougher than others to be motivated, but overall my running is progressively better and stronger. I do change up my running route even just a little bit every couple of days to keep it fresh and on days where it has been really tough to motivate myself but I get it done, even treating myself to a coffee from a local coffee shop is a nice treat. Always look forward to Running Channel videos and these great challenges Anna shares with us. :) Well done, Anna! Cheers, Scott

Well done Anna. I am a barefoot streaker, currently on streak day 324, having started on 1st Jan this year. My personal rules are simple - a minimum of 5km outdoors (no treadmills) every day. I have loved it, although it has not always been easy. Work commitments have seen me up as early as 3:30am for a run, and on holiday I had one run where the temperature was 106 degrees F / 41 degrees C. Heavy hail one one of my long runs was also fun! 2,500km run this year so far. Keep on streaking!

I post the runs so people keep me honest. I always have a race I've entered and training for. A lot of runs are with groups like parkrun, my interval group, a social run group. Thought I would update. I started on January 1st. Decided to run a minimum of 5K or 30 mins whichever is longer. That way as I get fitter I'll end up running slightly more and slightly quicker. Now up to 355 injuries, including groin strain, hamstring pain, achilles pain and lower calf pain but I AM LOVING IT!
@gyozakeynsianism3 жыл бұрын
So nice to hear about your progress. One tip I've learned (and reinforced by TRC) is to try to follow some training course. I do Garmin ones (it just shows up in the calendar and you can access the day's run on your watch) but you do you. Anyway the point is that the courses mix up exercises in a a way that minimizes injuries and makes you fitter faster. It's a win-win. That may not be running every day but it's very consistent and maybe better for you overall. (Also I'm sure you can find training courses that are designed for you to run every day.) Good luck!

I totally agree with getting runs done first thing. Job done, so you can go to the pub/work late/have a big lunch/binge watch that box set. It's mentally such a hard thing to start doing, but once you get in the habit it's totally worth it. I love having the whole world to myself, the lack of pollution, and bonus of seeing beautiful sun rises and quiet misty mornings. Running while holding AND speaking to the camera is a whole different challenge altogether. Nicely done! It's a judgement call. If there's a clear space to get by then there's no need to ring it. The worry is if you ring it and people then move into the space you're going into. Better to shout "on your right/left". I cycle with a whistle it's far more effective (especially with drivers!)

Amazing!!!!!!! running everyday + a Marathon in month. Respect & Inspiring. I can't run every day my body need rest, even when I'm log 80/90 km a week I do it in 3 to 5 runs.

Thanks very much! It was a good build up to New York Marathon on the 2nd of Nov. I definitely needed a rest after! (Anna)

I have a lot of respect for people who run in streaks like this a few friends I know have reached crazy high numbers of consecutive days, but I don't see myself ever doing it. Part of this is that I run a lot of races and after a race I like to take a day off as during the race I ran as fast and as hard as I could for that distance and for longer races like Half Marathons, Marathons, and Ultras that amount of time usual increases to a few days to even a week off and as I continue to increase in my max race distance I imagine I'll need even more time. I know a lot of people who run everyday and still run races, but I've run the day after a hard race and if that race is over a 10k it usually is not a pleasant run and time off is good for the body. To those who go on 20, 30, 40, 50, 100 day to even year long streaks well done, keep going, but I have no plans of joining you.

This is cool! I'm about halfway through a 5k program and starting to really enjoy it. Trying to take it slow so I don't end up with a silly injury and so far it's working out! Once I get a good foundation a RED month might be in my future. Great vid. Cheers!

This is very inspiring! I've never done a run streak, but at the very least, this video will probably get me to finally do that canal run in London that I've been wanting to do...and who knows maybe a run streak too!

Fun challenge! If your looking to improve your running, I found 5 days much more effective as you are getting enough rest in-between runs. I ran daily for about 60 days until switched up to 5 days. HUGE difference.

Well, you have to be young to pull it off. At 70, sometimes I try to go 7 days in a row, but then I need a break as I feel like something is about to break. All my over 70 friend runners say to only run every other day or you are asking for injury.
@gyozakeynsianism3 жыл бұрын
I think you're asking for injury even if you're young, unless you're careful. I'm sure Anna, an experienced runner, is very careful about what she plans for the coming weeks and is very attuned to what her body is telling her. I was most prone to injury when I was young, because I was careless. But boy did I like to run a lot in a given week.

Anna, don’t be embarrassed talking to the camera, although it’s easier said than done and I’ve noticed myself getting quieter when people are around and I’m filming. 😂 You do you and keep churning out the running content! 👊🏼

Not a running streak, but I did have a 100 10,000/day steps streak earlier this year, I would have gotten more (even kept it up during vacation!) but I got stay in bed sick and that broke it. Working on getting it back up now!

This is a small thing, but I found Anna's quick little look to her right and then left before crossing the street on day 17 so interesting. Since I live in the US and am used to cars coming from my left, I always look left then right. These are the little movements we've done thousands of times and unite us as runners, even if it's opposite!

I decided to start running 2 miles a day everyday for 30 days on my last birthday. After day 30 I kept going. On day 44 I took a bad fall and busted my face and broke my teeth. I took 2 days off to heal and I’m back at it. Today was day 4 (48/50 days). I never thought i would get to love running.

Yes Anna, I’ve been inspired by “HellahGood” I’m happy that you have being doing it to, I’m on day 18 💪🏿 Honestly it’s amazing how much your running improves; also I recommend you buy “hypervolt - gun massage” it helps you recover quickly.

This is a great and inspiring video - I'd like to run every day but have suffered with numerous calf strains so I'm fearful of another repeat via overuse. I like the rule of a minimum run of a mile though. I may give that a go.

Completed RED January today, ran 205km in total over the course of the 31 days.....usually only run a couple of times a week (5k/10k max) so it was definitely more of a challenge - which I have to admit, I've really enjoyed.....even though my creaky right knee may beg to differ! Hardest part at times is just that initial getting changed and pushing yourself out the door but once out, it's all good!🏃♂️👍🏻
