I mean, something you forgot to mention is that Pal Park has NO wild Pokémon. All Pokémon there are imported from the GBA games to be re-captured in Sinnoh/Johto.

And don't forget there can only be up to 6 Pokemon per 24 hours in the Pal Park. Not 6 Pokemon species, 6 INDIVIDUAL, TRAINER-OWNED POKEMON. And until all 6 are re-captured, you cannot add any more Pokemon either.

1 thing you missed about the O.G. Viridian Forest is how many trees were cut down. The path is lined with stumps of felled trees as thr march of progress cuts swathes through it. That's probably why Pidgey & Pidgeotto weren't in Blue version, and makes it a strong contender for the Going Extinct category.
