My unpopular opinion is that It Starts With Sorry is one of the show's best songs. Aside from setting off Sir Pentious's arc, I love how it's a genuine moment of characterisation for Charlie, reminding us why she is the main character. She may be naive and have a flawed view of people, but she is undeniably the most forgiving, and this quality led directly to the first real redemption of a soul. I like that it isn't over the top and flashy, but simple. A sincere character moment portrayed through song. I also love Charlie's singing voice and when Pentious apologises dramatically

Happy Day In Hell was the worst season opener to this type of series because everything about it just felt safe. The over-reliance on piano, the oversaturated edgy humor that belongs better in Helluva Boss (I love Helluva btw, I just think it's brand of edgy humor doesn't translate well to Hazbin), the lyrics felt lazy at times (i.e., "To change their minds and touch their hearts or whatever angels have"), and Charlie's optimism was never countered with any lingering feelings of doubt, which made for a flat song tonally speaking. I only re-listen to it when I do the full soundtrack and it always feels weird to stumble across it. Oh, and the storyboarding and set design of the music video sucks @ss.

Listen, listen, listen. Now, I was all ready to throw hands with this man for this ranking (part of me still does lol) but I had to remember, this man is not a theater kid. This is a musical, with the majority of the fanbase being musical lovers. So the songs he put in "AAAAAHJ" can make most blood boil (Hells greatest dad?!? Really?!?) But most of the ones he didnt like were heavily musical coated; with exposition, witty banter, character development, story progression, etc. The "SSSSSSS" tier songs relied as more stand alone, like something you'd hear on the radio. So, as much as my broadway heart weeps, I respect this ranking. (I'm just extremely disappointed.)

My favorite song is More Than Anything. Such a beautiful song. It's funny your list is almost the opposite of mine haha. I'd say out for love and whatever it takes are pretty mid for me, but I can see why people enjoy it 😊

Cause most of the songs you said "it didn't hit for me" were more musical driven songs ((you didn't know, stayed gone, ready for this, the show must go on... )) And it's a little harder for those songs to be stand alone songs ((that's kinda the thing with musicals imo)) The fanbase didn't like songs like 'whatever it takes' or 'out for love' because it didn't move the plot that much. Or if it did, it could have been done with a couple of dialogs instead; saving precious screen time for flushing out the story more and letting it have some breathing space. The fandom ranks these songs contextually, and you rank them as stand-alone songs. And they're both okay! just different.

Oh.. my.. god. You have almost all of the same opinions as me. And.. I have yet to find anyone else who resonates with my opinions! Thank you! My friends almost killed me for daring to question the “musical genius” behind Stayed Gone. The only one I don’t agree with is Hell’s greatest dad, but I think that we are just people who prefer songs to act like songs. Songs, in my opinion, don’t consist of singing through a full conversation. Nor do I believe that songs exist in a world where everyone sings when they talk.
