I feel super embarrassed whenever I say this but I’d honestly say that the Minions (and Gru when he’s a villain) are my favorite part about this franchise. Like I have the original Minions movie in C tier alone because I just really like the rapport that Kevin, Stuart, and Bob have with each other, plus their individual personalities are kind of enjoyable too. And honestly I just really love their relationship with Gru and how it shows that they were kind of the family he needed growing up, while the girls were the family he needed as an adult. Makes their interactions in the Despicable movies feel that much more heartwarming, which is exactly what a prequel should accomplish.

I really loved what Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru did for Gru’s character with him developing a friendship with his Supervillain idol Wild Knuckles and how he would plant the seeds for how Gru would refine his craft for villainy later on in his life>3 which you forgot to bring up when discussing Rise Of Gru in your ranking!:< I be mean you did kind of but you were talking about it more in the sense of how it refined Gru’s point of view of the Minions perspective and how it showed him how the Minions feel serving for him but in my opinion the Gru X Wild Kunckles friendship when discussing Rise Of Gru cannot be ignored! 1 thing I would’ve liked to see from Rise Of Gru is: what motivated Gru to pursue becoming a Supervillain? What got him fascinated with evil and aspiring to become 1 of the most ruthless Supervillains to ever live?! What made him become a super fan of The Vicious Six?! That’s 1 question I really wanted to see answered in the Minions movies but we never got anything of sorts!:< when Minions 3 inevitably becomes a reality I wouldn’t mind a return to child Gru and his early Villain in training antics but if I was in charge of Minions 3: I’d have the film set during Gru’s teenhood-young adulthood years in his life (around Gru when he would’ve been 15-30 at the time) when he would’ve first entered the territory of becoming more of a proper Supervillain, no longer seen as the juvenile jokester just pulling pranks and petty crimes and being seen as a lunatic laughing stock by those around him, Gru was going into the big leagues of the Supervillains that came before him! A fresh young criminal part of a new generation of scum and Villainy! The film would take place not long after Gru’s first handful of big heists and crimes he had done so far and he would get accepted for 1 of the biggest missions of his whole career up to this point! Likely tagging along with another group of Supervillains entering the world of crime and villainy part of his generation just like himself:3 I’d imagine Gru at this point wouldn’t be quite as well experienced as we see him in the Despicable Me films! Sure he would have made some successful heists early on but he didn’t fully grasp the ropes just yet likely resulting in Gru messing up on the mission and causing his team to see him in somewhat of a bad light, but out of all of them there would be 1 teammate that would stand up for Gru and be able to relate to Gru in his/or her own inexperience’s with being a Supervillain likely forming an unlikely friendship and even sidekick after they would leave the team believing that they were far better than anyone else from their group, as far as the rest of the film would go I honestly don’t know just yet but I really like this potential Minions 3 concept:3 maybe at the end of it I’d have a scene where Vector steals the pyramid in the present day perfectly tying the film’s ending before the beginning of Despicable Me 1. Let me know what you guys think of my Minions 3 concept I’d love to hear your thoughts and most importantly: how would you write Minions 3 if you were in charge of directing it??:3

I think that's the main goal of the films, just to entertain. It's just a family film and there isn't much emphasis on deep stories and well-written villains. I can understand not liking the film that much if that's what's most important to you. But the film is very good at what I think it's supposed to be: entertaining. That's exactly what the Minions are for. They don't have a big impact on the story, but they make the film funny. Of course you have to like the humor, but if you're into "the dumber the better" this is just the thing. Personally, I also thought the film was very good.

The most nostalgic ones for me are Despicable Me 2 and Minions. I don’t care if people find then annoying, but the 2015 was hilarious to me back then and I still think it’s fairly funny now. The first Despicable Me is also good, and I quite liked Rise of Gru. I’m not massive on the third one, but I’ll probably grow to like it more as time goes on.
