I like how everyone literally burst into tears about how bad MK11 was in the first 2 years. Now everyone has forgotten this and the hate has spread to mk12, mk11 suddenly became goated Objectively, mk11 is better in terms of plot, both the main story and Aftermath, however, even though I haven't played it, mk12 is not bad in terms of gameplay either. Cameos look like a very interesting and fun mechanic, definitely better than just choosing the optimal style in 10-11. Fatalities and fblows in 12 are a step above those in any mk before btw, I mean, just look at mk11' blood

Fun backstory to MK Special Forces. The original version shown at E3 was completely different. It had Jax & Sonya, different camera angles, different stages, and a different story. John Tobias left Midway around that time and the game was quickly reworked into the game we got. Which was vastly different from what was intended.

We have Tv characters, movie characters and kp3 will probably have video game characters, which is really cool. A lot of people overlooked how boring MKX modes were compared to MK 9 and MK11. Mk11 gameplay was the worst to me, but i played it much longer than i played mkx because of how fun it was to unlock stuff in the krypt and TOT.​ Mk9 was the best NRS game to come out so far with how close it resembled Midway's games in terms of their theme, designs, and modes.

MK1 is the best mortal kombat game of all time and i used to play the old ones 30 years ago. It brought me back to the franchise. I played X quite a bit, I didn't like 11. But MK1 is special, its unique yet still familar and what we expect. In 10 years time people will look back and appreciate it more.

If you rank each game based on the time they were released, I don't think anything comes close to Mortal Kombat II. It was so good in its time. Arcades thrived off this game and the anticipation for a home release was like none other. MK1 set the stage but MK2 put the series on the map with its flawless execution and I think should be credited for everything that came after.

Nice list but I'd personally put MK9 above MKX. MKX the problem is that the meta is braindead run up 50/50s. To be fair every MK game and fighter has some busted stuff to it or the S tiers with stupid nonsense in it...MK4 gets way too much hate imo. But yeah UMK3, MK9 and MK2 the GOAT for sure I feel by a good majority of MK fans who've been around since the first. MK 11 and MK1 are mid to me. MK1 would have been so much better if we had a NON-Kameo mode imo....
