vegan taco bell hack- you can add the red sauce, the mexican pizza sauce, or guac to anything, which is nice when you have to delete a bunch of sauces to make items vegan 😀

If you have the option to use the self-serve electronic ordering kiosks, I recommend them. Much easier and less likely for them to screw up the order and give you animal products by mistake.

Gotta recommend ordering fresco style next time! Removes dairy and adds tomatoes for no extra cost. Also onions are free to add, at least in my area! I like getting black beans in my crunchwrap and the refried beans in my burritos, gives more variety and both are so good! Would love to see more fast food rankings!

Fresco style USED to be pico de gallo instead of tomatoes, but then they got rid of the pico and now it’s just their sad, pale, flavorless tomatoes. It’s depressing. They removed my two favorite toppings, green onions and pico, from the menu. They’re just not the same now.

I’m embarrassed to say that I get extremely excited to have Taco Bell when I come over to the US. We don’t have TB here in France. I always get the potato tacos with guacamole and lettuce, a shit ton of cinnamon twists and a giant baja blast. Chefs kiss lol

Our go-to order is 1) potato taco AL FRESCO and add rice + onion 2)bean burrito AL FRESCO add potatoes. You get the most bang for your buck ordering AF for the added tomatoes and we order 1 side of guacamole per 2 menu items because it’s cheaper than adding guacamole to everything. So when we get it, crack it all open and add guacamole and hot sauce. Feast!

Pretty sure the fiesta veggie and rice burrito is supposed to automatically come with guacamole and fiesta strips though. After years of ordering just "bean burrito no cheese" it was a nice change to have one with black beans, rice and guacamole. I almost thought the tortilla on the cheesey bean and rice one was smaller too, maybe the 1.00 price is playing tricks. The fiesta one always feels heavier than the other vegan burrito options. I also don't see a way to add those fiesta strips in the app which to me adds another level to that fiesta one.

@@MerleONeal You definitely got ripped off! I've ordered the fiesta veggie many times and even if you remove the cheese and sour cream, it's supposed to have much more than just beans! Seasoned rice, black beans, red strips, chipotle sauce, tomatoes, guacamole, three cheese blend and sour cream is what's included. Somebody definitely dropped the ball there! I swear Taco Bell is always infamous for messing up orders 😭

If you ever come to the UK you gotta do the same at Taco Bell here!! So much better for vegans! We have a vegan plant protein “ground beef” sub and it’s super yummy! No vegan cheese yet but I always ask to sub the cheese & sour cream for guac and they don’t usually charge for that 😊 the chalupa taco is my fave thing to get it’s sooo good and comes with tomatoes for free so you don’t have to pay to add them 😄

Fresco style can be used for other items as well to remove the dairy sauces and add tomato without an additional cost! Taco Bell pricing is also regional, so at a lot of TBs the Cheesy Bean and Rice is still a dollar, or $2 with guac. Easily my go to road trip food, just always check it before you bite in!

Do you have a HUMONGOUS freezer? And btw, I use ziplock freezer bags (over and over) for those containers that don't have resealable plastic bags. Cut off the instructions and put in the bag as well. Here in Spain, you can buy any taco or burrito and select the type of meat you want! For vegetarian people or vegan, you have three options: rice, beans or a mix of oatmeals, rice and beans which slaps, honestly! First time I had that mixture, I thought it was meat! Here in the UK, they finally released plant based protein (aka vegan mince) to all their options and honestly they’re really good. Again you have to opt out sour cream and cheese which results into burritos and crunchwraps being a bit dry but at least we finally have a solid option when we need it.

Hey, Vegan from Texas here. They messed up all of those bean burritos. Listen, the best thing from Taco Bell is the cheesy bean and rice burrito without the nacho cheese and jalapeño cream. It’s literally just refried beans and rice, but I slather in in diablo sauce and it’s the best bite possible. Just imagine the best joint of your life and like nine burritos. And, you could swap the refried beans with black beans and it’s a whole new level. All for a buck here in Texas. They also had vegan nacho fries which was only around for one night in my town.

I really like the potatoes. Unfortunately they're rarely fresh at my location so I make my own using ore ida crispy crowns and I make them in the air fryer. They're already covered in oil and they're seasoned so you don't need to add anything. I eat it with Sriracha and plain Greek yogurt sub. I've also tried it with just diced potatoes that I seasoned and drizzled with olive oil and its just as good, but more work.

I'm confused where you said that inside the "burrito" options were only beans. I thought they usually did rice in those as well? Also, they recently brought back my favorite item after it disappeared for years, the Double Decker Taco. It's a regular hard shell taco but they smear refried beans on the outside of the hard taco and then put a soft one around that, so good. You should definitely try that one next time too.

I gave up on Taco Bell because I was sick of dousing everything with hot sauce. I found a delicious combo I love though. Fiesta veggie burrito, no cheese, sour cream, or chipotle sauce. Add lettuce and mexican pizza sauce or red sauce, make it grilled. You might not get the fiesta strips bc they always forget them, but it’s really good as long as they don’t forget the sauce and guac (which it comes with) Doesn’t need a bunch of hot sauce either!

I'm not sure how accurate my information is, but I heard from a taco bell manager that the guac is not actually vegan? Also their refried beans are not vegan, so I make sure it's black beans always! It's good to see that other vegans also enjoy the modified crunchwraps though! Before taco bell got rid of it, my go-to was ALWAYS the taco salad; sub beef for black beans, no cheese or sour cream, and add potatoes and red sauce to that! It was the best 😩

Yeah, I didn’t even know you could even veganize at Taco Bell I always knew they have vegetarian options but if you were to take off the dairy, you would literally just have lettuce and beans or lettuce and potatoes. However, it’s best to use the app to really make sure that you add all the sauces and all the other condiments that are vegan friendly on your burrito or taco, it just saves time being at the drive-through and not wanting to seem a burden to them modifying so much as well as making sure you see visually everything you want before you send it off to taco bell

I think they messed up your order - based on the description, those are not all the same thing, even when removing the dairy. Like the Fiesty Veggie Burrito is black beans, not pintos & comes w/guac & tomatoes already. Also, are they leaving out the rice for some reason? Why this was under the cinnamon twists specifically is confusing: "American Vegetarian Association certified Vegetarian food items, are lacto-ovo, allowing consumption of dairy and eggs but not animal byproducts. I love Taco Bell, but I had to give them up after switching to plant-based because there’s way too much fat in everything. I couldn’t find anything on their menu that wasn’t high in fat. I am type 2 diabetic and I have to be very low fat to reverse my insulin resistance. When I did eat Taco Bell, I liked the bean burrito with extra onions and rice added. By the way, the Mexican Pizza was WAY better back when they had green onions. I used to get extra. Then they got rid of green onions years ago during a food poisoning scare and never brought them back. After that, I went from a once per week Taco Bell girl to a once every couple of months girl, and when they got rid of pico de gallo, I went from once every couple of months to almost never.

I was so confused why those 3 items ended up the same. Cause they all should’ve been different 😭😂 The bean burrito would’ve had onion and red sauce, the cheesy bean should’ve had rice in it, and the fiesta veggie should’ve been a lot different with black beans, guac, red strips, etc. But maybe they just make them different in Ohio?? Also, idk if this was on them or you, but if your ordered everything fresco then you should’ve gotten tomato on all of that! First they got rid of the seven layer, and now they’re getting rid of the fiesta veggie. I hope they come out with another veggie burrito to replace it because the black bean Crunchwrap just isn’t that good IMO. Plus, my TB cannot make it correctly. It’s always 80% tortilla and 20% filling.

I'm just impressed that they didnt mess up anything in your order. The fact that something always ends up with cheese on it even though I always order without really turns me off from going there!

3:59 i like the Fiesta Veggie burrito, it comes with crispy tortilla strips and guac included; and costs only $2 here at my local TB in NC.... but the employees often don't have the patience to roll them properly, so i often get it with all the 'good stuff' pushed to one corner, and the other end is just tortilla and rice... Merle, i assume that's what happened with you, and you just happened to bite into the 'empty' end... also, if you ask for the burrito(s) to be grilled, they taste better IMO 4:59 if you use the app, you can add the TB Red Sauce at no extra cost 6:34 any time i find myself eating a whole bag of chips or some high-sodium food, i buy a bottle of Distilled water (NOT 'purified' or 'spring' or such); i feel it balances out the sodium levels in my body... if you decide to try it out, make sure not to overdo it, as very low sodium/potassium levels are also harmful 6:53 the "hardshell taco" is called a _'tostada'_

I agree! The fiesta one costs only 2.00 here too and mine always feels really heavy as if they're stuffing it more than say the regular bean burrito. I've done the cheesy bean and rice burrito no cheese, even fresco it is always very dry in my opinion. My go tos are the black bean chalupa, that fiesta burrito and the mexican pizza no cheese, everything fresco OR I skip it on the fiesta to do the grilled option in the app sometimes that makes it even better in my opinion

Did you eat anything with rice? Besides the Crunchwrap another thing I order a lot is a cheesy bean and rice burrito (fresco style) & I add guacamole.
