I agree with most of this. I would put Origins in the top tier. I am conflicted with Mirage. I want to put it in the Solid Entry tier but Underrated may be the proper rating. I really enjoyed Mirage but recognize that it does have a few problems.

I don’t mind the den defense in Revelations. It’s not my favorite thing Assassin’s Creed has ever done, but it’s unique to that game. I wish more AC games had unique features instead of just feeling like reskinned for a new era.

The combat is garbage. It actually has a "Kill" button (yes, the combat system is made that much for retarded toddlers that it has a button that says Kill and you'll guarantee kill your target). And you get this ability from the beginning, plus within the first 2 hours you get dual swords and pistols. Otherwise the game is great. I played it a couple years ago for the first time.

Maybe collecting everything and travelling from point A to B was way less tedious inside a city than over the seas. But You are right maybe soon I'll give it another try. Actually i was thinking on returning to the franchise. That' 0:06 s the reason I was watching these AC tier lists videos lol.

I disagree with putting AC1 in the OK tier. While the overall gameplay loop might be boring to the majority, the game has the most depth when it comes to parkour and combat, which is vastly unexplored by most of the player base. This is mainly due to the game's poor tutorial system. I would definitely put the game in the underrated tier.

Heavily disagree about the parkour and combat side of it. I do think for the time they were good but nothing that good in comparison to later entries, both are incredibly clunky and neither have much depth to them.

I think the only takes that are a bit disagreeable for me at least is Syndicate and Unity's spot. Unity with mods I'm fine with it being within that category but if it's just the vanilla game I would put it at eh okay. And as for Syndicate I'll put it at eh okay as well since Syndicate's stealth is actually pretty good and the game at least has a tone and atmosphere even though I'm not a fan of it.

The world, the story as well as the side quests, the hunting, the puzzles, the underwater exploration, the forts, the sailing, the naval combat that hasn't been topped even today 11 years later, and the side characters and the one and only Edward Kenway. I tried Origins via Gamepass and uninstalled it in like an hour. The controls, the combat, and especially the need to constantly scan the environment to see what is interactive are absolutely awful. Whatever game has that last mechanic is automatically bad in my opinion. If you have to use such a crutch, it just shows your level design is non existent.

Solid series definietily a top 50 of all time, somewhere between top 45 - 40. there's still a couple i have to finish but this is how i rank the series so far. once i finish all of them, i'll edit this comment to give it a concrete ranking. so this is how i rank them so far 👇. 13. AC1: 4.5 - AWFUL (terrible game, was ok back in 07 but now this game has aged horribly. So what if it started the series, because it doesn't mean it holds up well, it just means this series got much better wit future installments 👍) 12. AC3: 4.0 - AWFUL (another terrible game back then and still is now, this has never been a good game at all, just awful) 11. AC Rogue: 5.5 - TRASH (just seems like a lazy black flag dlc) 10. AC2: 6.0 - TRASH (if this had been back in 09, this would be no.1 but go back and play this game now y'all, this game has aged badly. Aged open world design, dated missions, not enough variety within them and time consuming boring combat. Yea yea i acknowledge it's influince & importance for the series but quality wise in todays standards...it ain't it anymore ppl) 9. AC Revelations: N/A (yet to finish it, not enjoying it too much really) 8. AC Brotherhood: N/A (yet to finish it, once again, not really enjoying it too much but maybe it'll get better, so far it's better than ac2 & revelations atleast, THANK GOD) 7. AC Valhalla: N/A (not quite done wit this game yet but im probably half way through and honestly...it's not THAT great really. It's honestly the worst in the rpg trilogy, i find it way too long and gets boring after a while. Sure odyssey was long too but it was fun and i couldn't stop playing it. Valhalla on the otherhand is just kinda heavy and i just wanna finish it already) 6. AC Mirage: 7.0 - GOOD (feels unifinished and and feels like they forgot how to make a great stealth ac game. Probably cuz the rpg games made the devs rusry at the steath games again. but still good nontheless) 5. AC Syndictate: 8.0 - GREAT (best world outta the stealth ac games and better sidequests then the stealth games too but not as good sidequests as the rpg ones though) 4. AC Unity: 8.8 - GREAT (almost a classic but 2nd half of the game isn't as good as the first half) 3. AC Odyssey: 8.8 - GREAT (finally finished it a while back and although it's a bit grindy and repetitive, i still had alot of fun wit this game. probably the most well made AC game next to origins wit the best sidequests in the series and an incredible setting and 2nd best navel combat behind black flag. it probably would've been the best outta the rpg ones if it wasn't so long but that's mostly because the game level caps u. if it wasn't for the lvl caping, this game could be beaten in 25 hrs since the campaign's not THAT long on a 2nd play through. cuz your already strong enough on new game+ making the game's pacing much better and faster since u can breeze through the single player only and avoid the side quests this time around) 3. AC Black Flag: 9.0 - GREAT (im fine wit ppl saying it's the best one but i personally prefer 1 more) 1. AC Origins: 9.5 - CLASSIC (best ac game, hardly any complains with it and the most addicting, fun game in the series) Here's hoping Shadows will be a great game despite the enormous hate it's surrounded by already.

I haven't played a AC game in a long while but bought Origins and ended up not playing it after 2 or 3 hours. The world was big and empty. Maybe I should re look at it. Right now I'm playing Odyssey and I think the world is big and every region has a lot to do. It lacks a good amount of stealth but I think this is something that's gone forward with the last 3 games. The female never bothered me and it's cool to have 2 options.

Syndicate was really good if you want to just have tons of fun playing a video game. It's all slightly cartoonish, but the combat is fast and free flowing. The stealth is really good. I put the stealth ahead of Unity. Evie should have been the main character, she's an intriguing character, Jacob is annoying. AC2, while very important for the franchise and to kick off Ezio's story, is extremely overrated in my opinion. The story is good not great, but the gameplay is just mediocre. Parkour is just awful sometimes. Combat can be very tedious. The antagonist is boring and predictable. Brotherhood does a better story with a more relatable antagonist and has some better gameplay mechanics. Revelations gets even better with gameplay and the story overall is still solid. AC3 and AC Black Flag are just fantastic games, I don't care what anyone says. Unity could have easily been the best of the franchise, but the story unfortunately sucks. Easily the most predictable of the series. Arno is a good personality, though. It's still the best looking game in the whole franchise. Origins was good and felt like a good step. Everything after that has been just horrid. Odyssey, you play as a gladiator demi god thing and you can't even wear a shield. Odyssey and Valhalla are easily the worst AC games. The bad part is they're also some of the best selling. I'm not much of a fan of Mirage, but hopefully it's a step back towards the right direction.

As a die-hard fan of the Ezio trilogy, I bought the full edition of 3 when it came out, and just.. failed to even get to the Connor section. I just didn't want to continue. A few years later I tried again, and again quit before the Connor section. I think the gameplay was putting me off the whole game: I wasn't exploring or doing anything but going straight to the next objective, and I wasn't really having fun. I've not played a single AC game since then, as I (intransigent bastard that I am) refuse to play a water-based AC game, and it seems every game after 3 has massive water traversal, which, to me, is the exact opposite of the point of AC games. Not sure where I was going with this, but glad to see that some of the games were good, but I think I'm done playing any AC games but the Ezio trilogy. Still watching playthroughs of the others, but that's about it.

Being a single crew member using different boats to get around would have been more in keeping with the idea of the assassins, in my opinion.

They obviously started to use ships to control bases and trade, so what should the Assassins do? Obviously fight them. The people don’t know that luckily, meaning they still hid in plain sight, and the crew members either were Assassins (Templars in Shay’s case) or just liberated pirates/former crew members

Had a go of AC Origins the last few days and it's alright with mods. Particularly 1 that increases the speed of movement. I recommend 150%, makes it about the same speed as the classics. The system is still trash though.

Seems like a list to please the old school fans. Ezio being the pinnacle, Syndicate, Odyssey and Valhalla being derided. Saying Valhalla and Syndicate to not bother is just so wrong on so many levels. And playing it safe by declaring this is the perfect list but then stating it’s just purely subjective. Especially Odyssey when it improved on so many aspects of Origins but then state it’s not really AC. Hits every “old school AC fan” cliche perfectly.

My favorites are Origins and Odyssey, but I agree they are different beasts in it's entirety. Valhalla is a blob of missed potential. Of classic AC games I think that Black Flag takes the mark due to its giant world and fun exploration, story and fun characters, with AC2 and Brotherhood following close behind. Others were fine. I agree AC3 is underrated, very nice story and characters in that one. I didn't like Unity like you did though. I really liked your take on AC1, it having a pretty good story and interesting premise, but it was a diamond in the rough. I remember playing it when it came out, and even then I was disappointed by some weird mechanics. And what the hell did they want to do with the modern world gameplay, you waking up and going to the Animus, lol. It was stupid. They could have made it fun, or just left it out in it's entirety. I know it's part of the story, but it was so underdeveloped. My hot take now. I miss that in classic games after Brotherhood you don't really get to "know" the city, buildings and escape routes that can get you out. So many options of movement and gear make you be able to do anything, so the movement itself isn't fun at the end, just a chore. I know Unity wantd that, but Unity gave you so many options that it didn't really matter what you do, because you could do anything. EDIT: I honestly forgot about Mirage. Imho it's quite trash. I didn't like Unity but Unity was much better.

Assassins Creed Syndicate is the best. I tried almost every single AC game and syndicate was the only one I was having just an absolutely fun time. AC 2 i guess is mostly great for the story which I usually just don't care about stories in video games so there's that. Black flag is great for exploration but it is bloated and repetitive The same goes for Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. Syndicate had a normal length, a normal sized map, a dense city which made parkour exciting, it was not grindy by any means, the combat was flashy and fast.

Valhalla and mirage really disappointed me tbh. It was like a big downgrade from what we got. in the first 2 rpgs (yes i'm counting mirage as part of the rpgs because mirage was supposed to be a dlc for valhalla and acts like it) We went from awesome worlds and awesome characters with decent stories. To bland worlds, dead looks uncanny valley characters who are boring, to downright awful story. And also i will actually will rank Assassin's Creed 2 very low. It's a okay game but if you played it on pc with a controller like i did, the controls are a absolute nightmare and ruined the game, at least for me

AC1 has better combat than AC2 by quite a margin. The parkour is pretty much the same and the environment is better suited to it. Only thing AC2 really improves is stealth. Atmosphere, story, how every part of the game tells that story, how the setting is fixed to Altaïrs story; things no other AC does as well if at all.

AC1 doesn't have good combat though. Fun for a bit, extremely repetitive and boring fast because there aren't much mechanics or depth to it. If AC2 is basically the same as AC1, it makes 0 sense then for why AC2 is loved. It's loved for improving so much on the first.

Unpopular opinion, i really like valhalla. I love history and you really feel like it’s medieval england. You get to also visit ireland, Norway and Canada and France. The combat was fun, there were really cool weapons like thors hammer or odins spear or cool armor like thors full armor set. You get to raid cathedrals and kill sacons like a true viking. You get to upgrade an entire settlement and see it go from this small tribe to huge town/settlememt… you got the norse mythology bits which i loved. You could hunt legendaries beast and have their heads hung up in your longhouse, its a fun game. Who cares if its over bloated, thats optional

@@Exiled7 i dont recall that. Sure the game is too long and im sure the games not perfect, but definitely worth picking up on sale. And the side quest are optional, its been a while since i beat it, theres no way most of the game requires side quest for main story.

I didn't say they required side content, I'm arguing that they shoved content that was originally side content as it has literally nothing to do with the narrative of the game into the main story so they could bumb the minimum playtime for just the story to 60 hours.

@@Exiled7 maybe they did do that but that doesn’t automatically make it a bad game. Like i said, unpopular opinion. But idc, i dont want to blindly jump on the Ubisoft hate train. To me, EA is far worse. As someone who loves history and mythology, this game delivers on those fronts and truly makes you feel like a viking. Thats a win in my book but I understand that it doesn’t necessarily feel “assasins creed” like. Not a game that fans of the original play style would appreciate . I like hoth the new and old style. Im currently playing mirage and it’s definitely make you feel like an assasin like the old games which valhalla fails to do, but even so, theres just so much to explore and do in valgalla, that even with a over bloated story theres a good game somewherein there. The dlcs were mediocre but the free dlc literally had a mini story which you can meet Cassandra from odyssey and there’s a bit of story to be explored there. I thought that was cool. Especially when eivor and cassandra duke it out. Its at the very least worth picking up on a sale

AC1 is not must play. It was my first AC game and almost discouraged me from playing the rest because of how bad it was. I only played the rest because of how much people liked them, and only played AC1 because apparently I would never be able to play it if I played any of the others. The story doesn't matter either, AC2 just has a fast recap at the beginning and doesn't force you to play that boring ass game to see it.
