I feel like in Pretty Girls the fact that there is no reason is scarier and more realistic. I think as human beings we always want answers to something that there really is no reason sometimes people are evil.

“It’s getting an open mouth tongue kiss from me” I SCREAMED Holy shiiiittt I’m so so happy you read ink and bone, albeit even if you didn’t like it but no know I know has read it before. Between the two, THE GOOD DAUGHTER IS MY FAVORITE BOOK FROM KARIN SLAUGHTER EVER. I read the introduction at the boba shop and holy fuck I was so shocked I sat down and didn’t even order any milk tea until much much later haha. Also GD was important to me because I was just browsing barnes and noble and picked it up on a whim, never hearing/being recommended to me from anyone. It was a breath of fresh fucking air and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Omg Chandler, what a fucking bang of a video to return with!!! So so so good!! While we have very similar feelings about the majority of these, there were two I loved that you hated, and I have to say, while you were saying the things you found unlikable, I was nodding and agreeing. I love that you are a reviewer that I can have differing opinions and yet understand WHY you don't like what I like. I can't fully articulate what I mean, so I'll just say, I love the shit out of your content 😍 and I hope you are feeling better!!!!!

Totally agree about Pretty Girls, all I wanted to know was why. Why do they do all of these heinous things and sell them, how did they even get into this business of cruelty but for some reason she wasn't interested in answering why. They always wanted closure for Julia, but it was strange that they didn't want to know why.

Hi, I’d just like to ask, how is the characterisation in this novel? Because I read the blurb and the premise sounds very original and interesting, but I just can’t get into a book unless the characters have interesting personalities and behave like humans and not stock defaults lmao. Is it well written? Btw thanks for introducing me to a new book!
@HalleHamilton4 жыл бұрын
Dipannita Sarah, I enjoyed the characters. The book follows five story lines and each character’s chapters stand apart from each other. Characters/character development typically make or break a story for me, and I found myself to be very invested in all of the different story lines. So I think you should definitely give it a chance!

I think you’d really like Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. I don’t know how to describe it without spoiling it, but the book is composed of 4 separate, non-related thriller tales that I think you’d really like.

The Good Daughter > Pretty Girls, agreed. Miracle Creek is one of my favorite books that I’ve read so far this year but I definitely think it’s not for everyone (it hit me extra hard as my son has autism) and completely agree that it leans more literary fiction than thriller. 13 in 13 (or 12 in 12 plus some time 😂) is so impressive and I’m awed that you didn’t burn out!

"When in doubt a man probably did it" why does this so accurately sum up every book I've ever read and even the one I wrote? xD I'm glad I watched this before wasting my money on Pretty Girls. I don't think I'd be able to root for a character who invalidated her sister like that. She sounds like an idiot. So many things you've addressed sound like they'd be beyond frustrating to me. @_@ It's going off my to read list.

My biggest gripe with The Chalk Man was that it felt like a rip off of IT. I get being inspired but the constant references kept pulling me out of the story.
