the punching scene in next of kin was the worsttt and the pacing was all over the place. totally agree about that one

The way I was so excited for Hooked….. aaaaaaaand, what? Whatever the opposite of sexy was, was exactly this book. So insta-lovey and will nooooot be reading the next books.

Girl ok……..hear me out. I didn’t like Hooked either. However, the other books in the series are a huge improvement and actually turned out to be fun times for me. Imo, it’s safe to give the other books a chance even when this one was a flop. They’re pretty enjoyable and the writing is much less….yk. Try them out!

2 stars for Always Be My Duchess! Chandler you wound me lol. I will say that the 2nd and 3rd books in the series by Harper St. George are WAY better than the first in my opinion. So happy to see a car monthly wrap up! Always one of my favorites from you 💕

Hooked is the worst in the Never After Series. Twisted is fantastic, and Wretched follows bad girl as main character. Depending on your favorite romance trope, you should read the book in the series with that trope.

Reading Kit Webb now and LOVING it so far! I almost didn't pick it up based on the cover, but I am so glad I did!

Cat Sebastian is definitely a reliable author for queer historicals, although I think my favorite is The Cabots series (because they are like a stand in for the Kennedys). I also finished the Will Darling series a couple months ago and just wasn't satisfied with it. I didn't mind the time period, but I much preferred the Magpie Lord series by KJ Charles, which is set in the Victorian period and if memory serves me right, the conflict is more with secrets rather than betrayal.

I’m so pleased you’ve enjoyed a Cat Sebastian book. Her most recent ones especially are so wonderful ❤️

I did a ‘I read this book so you don’t have to’ video on Hooked, and I felt the exact same ‘ick’ factor. I went in blind, because I’m a sucker for anything Peter Pan themed-which made the shock 100% worse. 😵💫 The way Hook’s villainy was written was so impressively convincing, which I rarely find in modern day stories-but my praise for the book stops there. 🙈 The overall feeling I felt while reading was, “Ew.” 🤢

If you don’t like billionaires, might I suggest “Corporate Mandated Holiday Romance” by Nellie Wilson? Actively anti-billionaire and a holiday romance that’s getting pretty good reviews 👀

For Christmas romance books, I just finished Wreck My Plans by Jillian Meadows and it was 5 stars for me. It's and age gap (kind of), brothers best friend, small town romance. The tension and build up were A+. Highly recommend!

Not one video goes by where I don’t cry laugh at least once. The Maverick nickname had me laughing with my face in my hands because such a good point 😭🤣

Oh not flop city 😂😂😂 I'm glad you limed LB books, I've heard a bit of negativity about the timelines, but I'm still so keen to read them ❤ Lookibg forward to the love triangle video ❤

Hi Chandler, if you're looking for a Christmassy book that you might like, try Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel. I also just finished Trick Shot by Kayla Grosse, that one is a holiday threesome novella & it's so steamy, but also really good 😊

I love wrap up videos! Idk why YT doesn't push these videos more! Your new videos are normally recommended to me but this one wasn't for some reason.

i've seen Hooked hyped so hard and every time i read the synopsis i cannot... but that's also because i don't usually liked 'retellings' -- like gild by raven kennedy almost killed me and i cannot do that again

I'm sure you're sick of love triangle books by now, but Bringing Down the Stars by Emma Scott is so good! It's also a duology like the Kandi Steiner one, and in true Emma Scott fashion the romance was amazing and I did cry while reading both books in the duology.

i figured you would be reading serenading heartbreak for your love triangle video and i just knew you would hate it lmao. genuinely one of the dumbest books i’ve ever read.

For the life of me I couldn’t get into hooked. 2 stars as well. Felt like i was reading a different book from everyone. Definitely not continuing the series

Hooked as awful. I finished the book and literally didn’t have any words. I couldn’t believe that I wasted that much time on it. I also didn’t like King of Pride, but at least it was better than Hooked.

'Hooked' was so bad and the author tried so hard to make Hook sexy 😩 it was just cringe
