This is so inspirational. Honestly, I'm blown away by how you pulled this off, even though you were keeping me posted with the books you were reading! Incredible discipline!!! Everyone should watch this video and be inspired to read more. Books are literally the best and easiest source of knowledge you can find and can transform your life from a miserable one to an incredible one. Personally, reading saved my life. READ, PEOPLE, READ!!!

So, I did some research on words and reading speed: The average book has 64 000 words, which can be roughly translated to 200-250 pages (depends on the font and spaces). If you read 300 words a minute, you can finish one book in 3.5 hours! I will set a goal to read 30 minutes a day and finish one book per week. Hopefully I'll manage to finish 20 books from today til the end of the year. Okay, I'll go back to reading now bye

This is such a good idea! I feel like I rarely have time to read but whenever I do I never read anything in English anymore as I feel like if I read a book in one of the languages that I'm trying to learn I can maybe pick up some new words whilst relaxing.

Ms. Ryan’s achievement in being able to read 20 books in a month has nothing to do with meaningful literature or the love of words; her rather simplistic accomplishment has more to do with the trendy challenge rather than the actual pleasure of reading quality literature. Ms. Ryan hadn’t even read a book by Agatha Christie. In fact she informs her viewers that one can avoid classical literature, which demonstrates her rather limited range and superficial mindset. Furthermore, she doesn’t even expound on any of the books she read, because her endeavor has absolutely nothing to do with the love of words and great writing; it has more to do with quantity rather than quality. It’s not about how many books one can read in a month, which is a rather puerile message, which has absolutely nothing to do with intelligent reading; it should be about reading rather than watching videos on a screen and it should be about reading significant literature.
@RobertoHelou4 жыл бұрын
If you have nothing constructive to say, zip it you proud piece of "intelligent reader" that doesn't even understand a purpose as basic and simple than the one behind this video. Introspect on your big ego instead of wasting your time destroying the self-esteem of someone with a genuine passion that loves challenges as a way to rediscover the beauties of life, which you're clearly blind to, with all the judgments you make.
@rotcawilliams13584 жыл бұрын
@@RobertoHelou I'm submitting a constructive and truthful comment. The fact that you don't agree with it is irrelevant to my viewpoint. What you don't think is constructive might be informative for others. I stand by what I said; if you don't like it that's your problem. I'm not wasting my time; I'm criticizing her rather juvenile article and video. Also, the fact that you're "blown away" and find her challenging accomplishments so inspirational is just a demonstration of your rather plebeian and shallow mind.
@RobertoHelou4 жыл бұрын
Rotca Williams u so funny, how old are u?
@rotcawilliams13584 жыл бұрын
@@RobertoHelou That question is completely irrelevant, but it's only relevancy is that it demonstrates your ignorance.

@@RobertoHelou Helou, How old are you? I can only guess from your writing that you're still in grade school.
@eduardosavoa22404 жыл бұрын
Ryan, it's not about how many books one can read in a month; it's about quality not quantity. Your endeavor is not original ; it's the meaningless trend on the internet, everyone's doing it. All you're doing is rote reading; it's a joke. It's equivalent to how many hot dogs one can eat in 10 minutes. You're not really tasting the hot dogs. Try reading James Joyce or Faulkner in two or three days.
