I completely agree with your take on Love on the Brain. Lots of things were a bit repetitive and the STEM angle was very confusing. Although it was an easy read and I read it very quickly I didn't necessarily like it. I loved the love hypthoses so I picked this up but it didn't quite meet my expectations. I hope Love Theoretically will be better.

Ngl I love all of them…but I personally like books that are predictable because it makes me excited for everything that I’ve guessed to unravel, I also prefer this specific trope so I don’t mind them being so repetitive with little differences cos they’re exactly what I like, anyone else agree 🥲

I just finished love theoretically and now I’m wondering are the other books very similar in tropes? like love theoretically was sort of enemies to lovers but not really enemies

Yes! I completely agree and understand your take on Ali's books. Personally, Ali Hazelwood is my favorite author, and I'm definitely biased because I am a STEM major, but I love how Ali's books were predictable but also not...if that makes sense?! Most of the plot would be predictable, but Ali adds little events to make it original too! I love sticking to books I know I'll love already, so I completely agree with your take!! ❤

Aweosme vlog and love theoritically was also my #1 favourite followed by love in the brain and the love hypothesis was my 3rd favourite of all her books. Atleast for me I just related so much with Elsie and her people pleasing as well as being a stem girlie and imho I think that maybe Elsie is ADHD or ASD. I am also ADHD and dyslexic so I that’s why I related with Elsie so much
@cyans.shelves Жыл бұрын
I completely understand that. I have ADHD too and feel like Elsie had some similar traits that I related too. I just think that I like Adam over Jack but I’m glad you liked the vlog and the books!

@@cyans.shelves I get that. I like Jack because he reminds me of my crush especially how he is always trying to get Elsie to decide on what she wants and stuff.

WHAT👏🏻 DO👏🏻 YOU👏🏻 WANT! That part had me🤣 I’ve read “love hypothesis” and “love theoretically” and skipped “love on the brain” 😅 cause I’ve heard horrible things about it. But I enjoyed the other 2. The only thing I can’t get past is how cringe the smutt scenes are in her books😖

😂😂 you probably did yourself a favor by skipping love on the brain. I still don’t know how I feel about that book. 😂 and yessss the smut scenes are pretty bad.

The issue you're getting with Love On The Brain is you're completely forgetting the first chapter where it is very established that Bee has like zero self esteem when it comes to her thinking people like her. So she assumes if she pushes away first and convinces herself that people hate her like Levi she can't be hurt. That's like a big theme in the book even before you get the slap in the face explanation at the end. But I mean you also didn't know if Levi was even an engineer by the time you got to chapter 13 so I don't think you can really even understand underlying themes.

@@BlissfulAriana you’re right. This video is from almost a year ago when I was just getting into reading and I wasn’t much of an intuitive reader nor did I pay attention to small details. Even now I tend to still do this. And I understood the underlying theme of her being self conscious but I do think that it doesn’t need to be repeated throughout a book multiple times. Which is just my opinion and even some of the people in the comments opinions too. In the past year though I have read a lot more and I hope I’ve grown so who knows maybe now I would like the book better if I were to reread it.

1. I explained in the video that they have cameos in the books. But to me interconnect standalones are when the characters are like full side characters that we see a lot through the book so to me they’re not really interconnected. 2. I am a STEM major but STEM has so many branches to it so excuse me for not understanding the exact science that is mentioned in her books. I also said that I liked her books. They’re all 3 stars and up which I think are good ratings. 3.He’s not my favorite type of character but I get the appeal.

I read The Love Hypothesis and that was enough for me to never want to read another Ali Hazelwood book... I don't get the hype around this book at all... I feel everyone just likes it because it's STEM 🤷🏻♂ And then there's the "Fake Dating" which is my least favorite trope and they had to remind us 1000 times they were "fake dating"... And overall, it just felt like I was reading about Junior High students... 2 STARS
