Not gonna lie... the scene where Garrett fades into the darkness and William Afton emerges from the shadows would've been so cold. Wish they kept that in.

I can see why they cut it though. Just a few minutes earlier, we see a similar transition, where the kid possessing Foxy backs into pirates cove, and Foxy steps out. Garret stepping into the shadows and Afton emerging afterwards, would have probably lead the non Fnaf fans in the audience to thinking that Garrett was possessing the Yellow Rabbit.

I honestly thought it was weird that he didn’t, seemed very in-character of him to talk a lot. Plus, it fits his character in The Silver Eyes as well since he only feels comfortable talking in any other persona other than William Afton, he is perfectly talking as The Yellow Rabbit or Dave Miller, or in the movie case, Steve Raglan. I do agree his line should’ve stayed in the script.

I agree!! Afton’s whole thing felt a little bit like it was added as a last bit, with how late it entered the movie. I know he appeared at the beginning but it felt a little late, no hints about him at all. We could’ve even seen something along the lines of Vanessa making what seems like a police report, or maybe she’s reporting to the owner about what happened at the place. Would definitely hint about how she wasn’t just a nice lady

Nah, the whole animatronics acting innocent and shit is absurd. The whole “they’re just kids” argument is absurd too, because the Puppet describes them as animals in UCN. But above all it completely takes the horror out of them. They SHOULD be scary, and when things like them building a fort happen, it just feels like some fan fiction that a 6 year old fnaf fan came up with. I completely agree with the screen time part though, since one of my least favorite parts about the movie was how short it was.

I think Vanessa's introduction in this script is better. Her formerly working there causes no issues, but designing the vest? That's a GOOD contradiction, because it raises the question of... When? Well, as a kid, of course. She was the owner's daughter. It's a clue as to the twist that I bet most would gloss over on their first watch.

Honestly, other than the death scenes, the final movie was better in every way. That being said, since a large portion of the fanbase wouldn’t have been able to see the movie if the death scenes hadn’t been changed, I understand why they did it, though I do still wish they would’ve filmed the more violent versions for an alternate cut. Also, I think the reason why Matpat’s cameo was different in the script is because they didn’t know what his role was actually going to be until closer to filming, since in his video on it, he said that he auditioned for Koryxkenshin’s role. That leads me to think they didn’t know who was going to have which role until they were about to start filming.

Also, I specifically think that Ella being changed from a scooper to a springlock suit, and the springlock setup being added earlier in the film, was a very good call. It helps the general audiences understand what was going on during Afton’s death scene. Without all of that setup, I feel it would’ve felt like the springlock scene came out of nowhere.

The fort scene is so necessary. People so often just reduce the characters to their shells (Freddy, Bonnie. Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy/Fredbear). They are the kids (Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, & Cassidy) whose souls exist within the suits. The children matter. What they went through matters. If they were not killed, these animatronics would not be the characters they are. The fort scene allows you to see that the children inside are still children at heart. Yes, they had a terrible ending in their previous life, but they are still children. They want to make new friends and have fun. The people that didn't like this scene, just don't ike the idea of humanizing the threats. Tough cookies. I'm glad the story emohasized the actual children just as much as the animatronics they live in.
@skyr5247

Exactly! It emphasizes the tragedy that these innocent kids had the chance to be kids taken away from them, and the fort scene is probably the first time they've felt any type of childlike fun in a decade, maybe more

I remember a Reddit post of someone who saw a screening of some cut content that does line up with what you revealed except that they mentioned a scene of Young Vanessa witnessing the murders in a dark room but Afton himself is never shown. I wonder if that was filmed later but got cut as well. Otherwise, I would kill to have seen Bonnie give Abby a piggyback ride, he's such a sweetie in the movie EDIT: So I guess the original post was misinformation because while everything else does add up, that one scene never happened and was removed. Regardless, I hope we see more flashbacks of Young Vanessa and William Afton during the 80's because there's a lot of potential to show what he did to her to keep her quiet and how the murders affected her.

Very interesting to see the R-rated script for this film, even though there aren't too many differences. Overall I'd say I preferred the final cut, mostly due to the ending having more William Afton. Although there are some cut things I think should've been in the movie, and I really wished they retooled the Golden Freddy scene to be in the final version. TBH I could never see the FNAF movie as nothing higher than PG-13. Scott doesn't really delve into gore, but more the IMPLICATION of gore. The most we got was a part from the games is pixelated blood and eyeballs. Mr. Cawthon is a less is more type of guy. I'm a little upset we didn't get to see the first guard's eyeballs drop onto the floor. That would be a great call-back :/ But I'm a big fan of this film. One thing I would change other than the cupcake nonsense is the ballpit scene. I was full on expecting William Afton to emerge from the ball pit and hold Abby hostage. That would be be terrifying.

I actually like how William is portrayed in this old script. A mostly quiet, sophisticated, killer that takes pride in wearing in his suit (which is pretty accurate to how William operates, especially in the Silver Eyes, down to the detail of even playing the part of Spring Bonnie through his twisted "happy-go-lucky" actions and him thinking that so long he wears his suit, he is "one of them") whom gives a sense of dread, and control over the situation IT'S JUST SO GOOD LIKE OH MY GOODNESS- Him also keeping the suit on is pretty on-brand and makes his killings more interesting. Using a suit that would usually give joy and laughter to children, twisted and contorted to be used to cause death and pain, and William having so much pride in his handiwork, as well as his little furry suit, that he even "roleplays" as Spring Bonnie through little gestures and actions, as if he was acting out a twisted version of Spring Bonnie, being a mostly silent killer like how he originally was in the games from FNaF 1-4, giving a dreadful presence. And Garret going into the shadows, and Afton stepping out also helps in his dreadful appearance. While I think the Movie's current William is fine, I do think he talked too much as Spring Bonnie, and didnt keep the full suit (including helmet) for too long. He didn't feel as connected to his suit, and had a little too much monologuing. While I do think he should have talked a little more, I do like this more Silver Eyes-accurate though cutting out half of his chatty attitude William that feels more like a legitimate threat despite his short appearance.

I personally really liked how much Afton talked throughout the final act. He had so much joy in inflicting pain onto others and he acted as if killing garret and now killing Mike is some sick form of poetry. It also showed how he doesn’t take responsibility over his actions and projects onto other people specifically his daughter. He also seems to be friendly yet commanding with the animatronics and the moment they turn on him he shows them his true colors yelling out insults in a rather deranged way. He had a lot of behavior one would find in an abusor and a manipulator. This is honestly my favorite version of William.

The scene with golden Freddy in the smoke fog is really cool (that definitely should've been kept in), the scene with the animatronics fighting Afton was cool (wish they implemented elements from that into the final springlock scene (key word, implemented elements, not add)), and the scene with Garret disappearing into the darkness is kinda cool as long as you don't think about how much it doesn't maks sense.

I like almost all the changes, except for Willam’s death. So I think what would be better is, after the animatronics attack Willam, he falls to the flower, and through the helmet off his head. He’s sweating profusely, and the camera shows the sweat slowly drip into the suit, then it triggers the first spring lock. He screams in uncontrollable pain, blood splattering all around him, covering the animatronics legs and lower half. He grabs his mask, attempting to hood back tears, “I always come back”, and just before putting the helmet on, sheds a tear drops, and putting helmet on, causes the rest of the spring locks to go off, covering the animatronics in blood, all around William is blood, and he screams, and the sound of him choking on his own blood plays as Mike Abby and Vanessa rush out of the building. The camera cuts to inside the pizzeria, fire has spread throughout the place, burning bits of the animatronics, Willam can no longer scream as his vocal cords have been cut, leaving behind a huge trail of blood, blood seething from the crevices of his suit, and the lights on the suit slowly go out, as he shakes uncontrollably. Let me know what you think of this version😊

THAT would be cool to see. creepy music would play as his eyeballs slowly run down the suit and then when he shakes violently the teeth fall out with a clink clink noise oh my gosh i think thats the scariest thing i've ever typed

@@SCP-469 could happen, but given the context of the scene, that would be impossible. His bones were crushed and he wouldn’t slither fast enough to reach that area. While some stuff from this earlier draft like the more intense kills or the Golden Freddy scene would've been cool to see, I'm glad the film came out how it did for the most part. The one thing I think the film could've done more of is using the cameras, atleast 1 additional scene. Also having Afton get torn apart by the cupcake instead of getting Springlocked would've been so lame.

Only things I think could have been good additions to the film were Cassidy (Blonde Ghost Kid) and Mikes deal which I feel this version did it better, Garrett's ghost disappearing into the darkness then Springbonnie appearing which would have made Afton's appearance more surprising, and the Spring lock scene happening in the Kitchen at the end with the post credit scene (probably Afton still being alive or the Marionette appearing) Ik why the post credit scene was cut due to the fear of the film flopping and a sequel being impossible

Ill say that the "Get away from her you bird" is a play on Aliens "Get away from her you bitch" which would have been a goofy nod to the alien franchise and paint Mike as the everyman who 100% isnt as bad ass as Ripley.

This version of "the deal" and the drawing of the yellow rabbit in the sand, is actually better. Golden boy did indeed "already tell him" by drawing the rabbit, but of course that doesn't tell Mike anything which frustrates him obviously

It’s too bad we’ll never see this version brought to (at least big budget) film, but I totally understand why they changed it. Rated R movies just don’t make as much money as PG13. They wouldn’t have smashed all those company records with an R rated FNAF. Which is unfortunate but just how things go in the film industry.

I personally enjoyed the movie, but i like the R rated cut more tbh. I wish it was longer, with more scares, cuz for a horror movie it wasnt that scary. I really loved Afton's reveal tho, it was spot on the way the eyes lit up i loved it. i wish the animatronics got more kills, maybe not as gory but like def woulda preferred to have chica break the bat and then bonnie rush the kill. plus giving foxy a kill woulda been cool too. and the sick golden freddy scene would have been super super fun to watch. im hoping blumhouse listens to its fans for the second one, because honestly if they do, they could make something thats super good. altho im hoping the second movie skips the second game, but goes into the third game with a whole new cast (and maybe that cast goes back to josh like in FNAF: The Musical, that would be fun)

Random little detail I like, but I think the idea of Afton throwing Mike into the fort would've been pretty cool. Because then the fort would have a sort of "payoff" for its setup, outside of the one scene it was built in. It also would've been nice logistically to acknowledge that it was still there the following night.

I'm glad Afton becoming one with the suit, and Max's death are the most violent parts we got, the other stuff being much more violent and gory for me would've messed it up. Hearing about the more gory parts made me envision in, and I'm happy it didn't make it in as the movie didn't need to be really gory as the games themselves aren't. Too many times movies stray from the games they're based off, this time I think they did things right, and while some of these ideas would've been a little better, I'm glad we got the movie we did. Also I can't wait for the Bendy movie!!

now THIS… THIS RIGHT HERE is EXACTLY what I wanted out of a fnaf R rated version. Other than a few differences from the final cut that I much prefer than the “R,” I ADORE the “R.” Now… if this was a “COMBINED” version of the “R” and final project (the 8 bit opening, having more depth of what happened to mikes parents, the switch from Garett to springtrap, springtraps scene from the final instead of the goofy “R” one etc) then replace the “R” version of aftons “death” with the springlock scene and add a bit more to it, this would’ve HANDS down been THE ABSOLUTE BEST fnaf film (imo) I still wish we’d gotten the “R” version of fnaf (or atleast an alternate cut for it) but the final project still did a phenomenal job.
