Tbh I was one of the few people that read this series before warriors. And I’ll admit the first book wasn’t anything special but it didn’t feel too much like a ripoff of The Lion King, but I’m always willing to give something a second chance if it feels worthwhile. Bravelands eventually proved itself as I found the series surprisingly really good. Tbh the first book wasn’t anything special but the second book was a massive step up in comparison and the series managed to become something of worth eventually. And I really wish more people gave it a chance. Tbh props to this series having more balls than warriors when it comes to killing off its characters and the brutality. Ps: Fearless x Keen was arguably the best and most healthiest relationship in the series. Sadly I’m not joking about that.

Interesting timing, since I just started checking out Seekers after not having touched it since it was first coming out. @@FurryBlossoms I vaguely remember checking out various books in the first arc when it was coming out as well as the graphic novels from my local library and finding it a little better than Warriors. Hey, if you like Hunter and Sutherland, you might actually like Tui’s smaller book, The Menagerie. It’s a group of three books where this kid named Logan finds a griffin cub in his house and learns that mythical animals actually exist. He and his classmate, Zoe, the caretaker of the Menagerie, a place holding the mythical creatures, learn that someone is sabotaging the place. Together, they search for the saboteur, and find a danger hidden nearby. It’s a really good book series.

I read Warriors from the first arc "Intro the Wild" in the Early 2000s, all the way until they made that huge continuity error when Bramblestar got his own Super Edition. (I believe modern prints now have it fixed, but I have the original version since I snatched up a copy upon initial release week) I remember occasionally the Erins would try to branch out, like the bear series, and the dog series (I have the first arc of Survivors), but somehow, I completely missed Bravelands? But upon looking back, it's release also seems to be around the time I was finally dropping warriors so maybe that's why I never heard of it. I'm a little surprised that fans thought it would have been a ripoff since the Lion King was not only a retelling of Shakespeare's Hamlet, but was also criticized for ripping off the Japanese Kimba movie. I would have imagined this series to be related to the Warriorcats, if anyone remembers the dropped mythology the cats had that they spoke about being descended from bigcats and Firestar leading the temporary, 'Lion Clan,' in the last battle against Tigerstar. I always found the mythology of the cats in the early books to be very interesting, and I'm sad they just kinda wrote it out. Anyways, like I said, I'd have thought the Lion series to go into depth about the mythologies of the Cats, like a collection book of greek myths but for the warrior cats or something.

But to answer your question, actually no. Though their premises seem similar at first glance, the stories have completely opposite morals and take different paths. The characters that are often compared to eachother are really not that similar at all, they just happen to be the same species (which is understandable given the two stories take place in Africa). The "main antagonist" that Scar gets compared to is literally irrelevant for most of the many shows and movies of the franchise. It's really just a case of people jumping to conclusions without watching the source material for themselves. Also Kimba as a franchise resorts to racist caricatures concerningly often, which I'm not sure is something you can say about The Lion King.
