I just found your channel and I love that you’re a “slow” reader and tell us how much time it takes you to read your pages. I’m such a slow reader so it’s so disheartening when everyone on booktube is like “2 hours in and I finished the book” and it takes me 6+ hours to read a book lol so thank you for being you 💙

i feel the same way :) i’ve always been a slow reader and reading more books didn’t increase that a lot, so its so refreshing and validating to see something relatable and realistic

It takes me about a minute to read a page so about 6.5 hours to read a 400 page book. I feel like people who read significantly faster than that must just be skimming and not fully processing what they’re reading. (I also like to annotate so that makes it take a little longer to get through a book)

You shouldn't feel discouraged by how many time it takes for you to finish a book. You read for yourself and no one else so you should be proud of how many hours it takes for you to finish

This is my first video I've watched of yours and I finally feel seen as a reader. I read so slowly and get intimidated when youtubers talk about their very quick reading times. I just can't finish a book in a day, and I definitely take a few hours to read 100 pages.

so, we are complete opposites but i am here for it!! most booktubers are fast readers and can read a book in an hour, which is exactly like me! but i love that you are different and don’t care about it. we really need to normalize people being slow and fast readers. in my opinion reading a page in two minutes is slow, it usually takes me 40 seconds to read a page, but i love to see how long it takes for people to read! thanks for normalizing it for us fast readers! :)

you should read a summer to die by lois lowry. not a long read, only around 200 pages but its my all time favourite book and made me ugly cry. lovely friendship between a young girl and elderly gentleman. so pure.
