I actually understand why he says four voices though. Mainly because Kevin isn't emphasized in the mix of this song. If you hear a live version they did of this song for some show (don't remember what show it was though) where the mic balance was more equal for all of them, you'll notice a huge difference immediately and I actually prefer that version because you really hear Kevin. Secondly, Kevin is so awesome at harmonizing with Mitch and Kirsten at times that you can barely tell there are separate voices! 😅

They once had homophobic protestors on one of their concerts in summer 2019. The thing about this song is that they always perform it off-mic, they just put one mic on the floor, stand around it and sing. That day the protestors were shouting and had a megaphone which made the performance harder but then the entire crowd went silent and they tried to sing as loud as they could, belting the hell out of their voices. This was one of their most powerful performances ever.

@@isasimonsen4774 The vocal track is studio recorded (as with all Official Videos for any artist). They did learn to lip-sync the "run to you" chorus backwards to that when played backwards, the lip movements would be correct when synced up with the recorded vocals. :) You'll notice that it's only during the chorus that the petals are falling upwards. I've been a PTX fan for at least 8 yrs but I didn't hear this song for the very first time until the week we buried my father. I don't know how I didn't hear it before then but it was unbelievable. I was totally numb, I lost my mother less than 2 yrs before and I remember hearing this and crying, really genuinely sobbing and it was the first time I was able to express my sorrow. They gave me the chance to let the walls down and grieve for both my parents and when they sing about breaking down the gates of heaven I felt it in every cell in my body. Those angels spoke my pain and sorrow for me and every time I hear it, I sob and miss my parents and allow the feelings out. Never ever apologise for your pure emotions, they unite us as humans and it is very needed in these days 💖 God bless

This is an original! It used to get to me every time I listened to it! On their world tour (that they had to put on hold in early 2020 because of covid-19) this was the song that they would sing like a traditional acapella group. They have one microphone and they form a semicircle around that microphone. They take out their earpieces and ask the audience to be totally quiet so they can hear each other without those earpieces. The audience is so respectful that it gets so quiet you could hear a pin drop. It's just beautiful and now I'm going to cry because I miss them! But they've been very active during lockdown and did a lot of videos from home. They've really tried to keep the fans feeling a sense of normalcy in a very odd feeling world. I appreciate them so much, just like I appreciate your positivity and how genuine you are. That's the exact reason why I decided to become a patron when I learned that your Barber Shop was closed last week. You give a very good vibe that brings my mood up even though I'm still in lockdown in this State. It helps me to get to share something I really enjoy and get my mind off of anything negative or worrisome. So many people have lost jobs and businesses during this pandemic and since I could afford those few $$ a month I was more than willing to be supportive since you're going through a rough time. I'm not rich but I know there are those out there that literally don't have a few dollars and I'm very glad that you are still providing all of this content on KZbin! They wrote this in such a way that the listener could relate to it in any way they chose: It's about a loss and the longing to repair it, but it could be a loss through death, a loss of faith, a loss of a loved one (and that could be any kind of love).... it's up to you. Also, you kept saying "four voices," but Pentatonix has five members (hence the name :) ), and there was no percussion here, they all sang together. This is probably the most enduring of their original songs.
