Amatures! Those who would say they are going to shoot their truck and then wimp out. Back in the 80s and my Air Force days I had a 75 C20 Chevy. It was a rust bucket from Illinois and probably a quarter of the bed was iron oxide and barely hanging on. I snagged some black, grey, and Earthy brown rattle can, and made it look like it belonged in the Idaho desert. During one of our many SILO PARTIES (guns, booze, and bombs) we decided to decorate it some more. We hit it with everything we had, and giggled every time a pound of rust fell out. That truck was kinda famous in the shop, and my shop chief gave me 800 bucks for it.! SCORE!

Nate Scott I’ve got a glock 20 for a daily carry, 10mm is my favorite “all purpose” caliber. They water down a lot of factory ammo for 10mm but I’ve had good power from Underwood. I’m not a fan of 1911s but I wouldn’t mind getting that 10mm one he used lol.

.45 has a lot of mass so it penetrates quite well actually. I used to carry a 9mm now i carry a .45

One thing that stands out to me is the .38 seemed to make the biggest hole on impact, of all the handgun rounds which i guess that's dumping all its energy on target.

Same here, I absolutely didn't expect the .45 ACP to go all the way through. I oddly thought the 9mm would be the only one to go through, maybe because of the shape of the bullet.

I’m sure a lot of it depends on whether he hit supports or just the sheet metal. Those supports are pretty strong. With that said I was surprised too.

Fantastic vid! Always knew the old 1911 .45acp that I carried in the service would kick ass. At the beginning you said you were going to put a hole in your finger, not your finger in a hole. It would’ve been interesting if... Hey, does a 50 BMG crack an engine block like the old .44 mag carried by Dirty Harry? Or does it pass through or simply ricochet? It looked like that 50BMG might have cut some wiring, creased the truck frame, or cut the brake lines. There’s some bragging rights to throw around with them holes! Love the exit hole with the perfect profile of a 50 BMG! Even if you sell that truck, cut the square of metal that shows the 50 BMG exit hole, and frame it!

Those 357 load must have been very light. I thought exactly like you start at the beginning oh, that the 357 would be the one to make it through. I thought the 40 would outperform the 45 also. It seems like the weight of the bullet is the determining Factor

Um if you had used a 158 grain hard cast in that 357 @ 1200 fps even it would have put a hole thru both sides of that truck A regular jacketed 357 bullet will be way to soft to make it all the way thru but the hard cast bullets will do it easy

There is sections of steal supports that are welded in between the outer sheet metal panel and the inner sheet metal panel behind the beddliner for structural support. A few of the other cal. most likely struck one. Still a fun video to watch tho👍

There was no doubt that the 10 mm would have passed through,I have that same rock island I love it,I think I can explain the 50 exit, my thought is it was an M33 round with a mild steel core, it hit some hard and the core separated from the jacket the round hole and the gash at the top was from the jacket and the elongated hole was the steel core which also can explain the sparks upon exit

That was a light 357 load. I saw a remington 158 grain flat nose (not even an fmj) go through drivers door, through the driver and through the passenger door. Complete pass through and it was a 1978 Pontiac Bonneville! So i have to wonder about that fiocchi stuff. Which i do anyway. I never had much luck with that ammo. Cool video though for sure!

The steel core was the bottom-right and the other hole was probably the copper jacket. I wouldn't shoot the van because of electrical stuff and rain/wind when you are driving.

If you open both sliding doors and shoot over the seats nobody will ever know unless you miss and hit the van... lol. Maybe fold the seats down (if they do) and shoot a gallon of paint on the floor with the doors open with something hot like a 22-250 do a 270 to spray paint the inside? Just thinking out loud. Be sure to plastic wrap the dash’s important areas first though..
