I had a magenta do nothing player yesterday with neutral bots. It was brutal. My magenta didn’t do a damn thing as I crippled the snowballer, and they had an open 50 cap to attack with. Pissed me off. While the boys gave him some cards in this game, that big white bot I think slowed black down from a faster snowball. If all of them were neutral, maybe pink helps you but if he doesn’t then black rolls faster. Maybe the difference isn’t so much bot behavior as opponents turtling or attacking.

I think the botout frustration influenced Pete to assume the worst. worst being that pink is a boring player that does nothing all game, which isn't the same as tactfully staying out of the way. what really happened though (as was shown when pink got killed unexpectedly) was that pink got surrounded by bot and then by black and was unable to do anything all game. a really shitty game for everyone except black. neutral bot > automated

Yeah those troops could have been better on a cap and let bot growing help you out. At that point the bot was his only way to get some help with troop generation to offset black I think.

I just had a game where is mattered. Orange bot got really strong so it turned into me vs human and bot. But I do have to give credit to my opponent for staying away from the bot and then pulling a sick move. I thought I had a kill on the bot and was going to get a set. But my opponent had pulled off their 2nd cap and let the bot take it! I could see because of fog so I committed everything to wiping the bot out only to stopped at the very end of my attack.

Neutral bots in the meta settings has pros & cons. I don’t play them bc it makes the scumbag bot out strat super OP & I absolutely hate losing to that. Knowing how to play vs a very strong automated bot also adds some skill gap (at the cost of lengthy matches) when it happens. I've played a lot of Fixed Caps w/ neutral bots & those games just end up feeling boring when people bot out & the pseudo-blizzards throw the game to whoever they benefit IMO but obv it’s super annoying when an automated bot goes HAM on you

I do to! but a problem I am having is that there is always a fucker that joins the game and leave direct when the game start, then often place second. Do they get the rank for that placement or does 3rd get 2d?

Neutral bots make me sad. In a 3 way if I am ganged up on - I take a card go all cap and bot out. Better chance of getting first as a bot.

Pete, as a Risk gamer you probably see much more 2 v1 roles so you do have the best picture, but as a viewer I distinctly get the impression that manual roling might increase your odds on paper, but in practice I suspect you're better off just blitzing it. All the noobs are winning these roles by just mashing the buttons.

Bro this is nothing compared to what idiot did i play with...So my cap was in rabat and blues in barcelona(with blizard next to it so its impossible to break from top) and green player was huge.me and white tried to fight green while blue noob was stacking 2000 troops next to my cap to protect hes bonus.....So green just came and killed me,than killed this fool because he had like 400 troops on cap

Just my opinion as an avg meta settings GM but I think this game would have gone better for you if at 20:38 you just retook your Africa bonus &/or went HAM across the map to see if Finland was unguarded. Neither noob corner cap actually mattered for card blocking purposes & w/ Black being an "attack everything guard almost nothing" expansionist who could've possibly had Germany, Eastern Europe & or Russia on their next turn the likelihood of you keeping that Oslo cap for more than a turn or 2 was pretty low IMO. A long stroll across the map could've also revealed unguarded/weak caps courtesy of the bots & the Alps & Dinarades caps are the only key late game caps in this match from a card blocking perspective. Unlucky not having any opponents who knew how to deal w/ a snowball & a shame Black didn’t reward you w/ 2nd for staying in the game but educational content for the rest of us at least 🫡

Putting aside that white scores higher than you after botting out, neutral bots make for crappy gameplay. In my opinion you hit too many caps in the 1v1. I believe you needed to stack on cap while using the minimal number of troops to reduce his bonus. But I am a washed up former entry lvl GM, I don't know what I am talking about. 🫣
