Thanks for the shout/burn at 12:14 😅 I absolutely loved my ‘94 Laguna Blue SVX LSi, but I’ll be the first to tell you that particular color you see was my least favorite they came in, next to the wonderfully-90’s Teal/Green you tend to see 🤢 I’m all about the Laguna Blue, Pearl white, ebony/black, bright red and silver. 🤗

I work at a junkyard and I feel you. We just got a decent Del Sol and I was so hyped to grab the seats today on my lunch break. I would've got both for $30, and if they didn't work out getting into my 98 Coupe, I woulda been able to sell them for $200+. Went out there today and looks like someone else acted on it first.🙃

Best of luck in the disc conversion, it's definitely a nice upgrade. Got mine a while back at the state street jalopy and fought a similar battle with the wheel stands. We ended up taking stuff out of the hatch and lifting the car up to move the stands.

@leesoftems47874 жыл бұрын
Instead of swapping out the entire rear trailing arm you can pick up a pair of brackets that allow you to keep your stock trailing arm and use 97 teggy small rotors and calipers. They're made by Scarebird and run for 80 bucks. Might have more luck with that.

If you are looking for rear disc conversion, with the level your civic is on. Youd be better off buying a scarebird conversion bracket. Or just tearing yours down and rebuilding with new em1 brake parts.
@ALLDAYANTHONY4 жыл бұрын
The cost of the scarebird kit and the supporting items was just too much to justify. I want to say the cost of rotors, calipers, lines, prop valve, etc came out to around $650. Just not worth it IMO
@larsmanson9577 Жыл бұрын
I would've grabbed the calipers and rotors those things are getting hard to find especially down here Houston Texas .

I mean at the bare minimum... your gonna get 20 year old trailing arms. A can of paint + new bushings is something I would do regardless of how clean a set you get.
@ALLDAYANTHONY4 жыл бұрын
There’s several threaded mounting points on the integra arms that I want to make sure are clean. I hate having to tap things, so that’s why I want a good starting point. Also, the more hammered the car is from the outside, the more I assume everything else is bad too

You don't need the whole trailing arms you can just unbolt the 4 torx bolts and take the knuckles off and bolt them to the civic trialing arms.
@ALLDAYANTHONY4 жыл бұрын
I read into that before, but I if remember right, because the integra lines/caliper are different, it’s much less janky to use the entire arm

I go to the junk yards here in so cal a lot either before or after work you get a hands on experience at the job you plan on doing My advice is do a bit more of homework and I just did the drums to disk conversion on my 96 hatch and it was scary never done it before but got though it and I’d recommend it also you can use the da integra disk brakes save up a bit for the energy suspension bushings and replace that with the trailing arm or look for part out it’s an upgrade forsure and those mirrors on that first teggy looked like spoon reps did anybody else notice that? But yea junk yard vids rock and now you know what to do for next time it’s all a learning experience

Anthony, would a cheater bar be a good thing to include in that tool box you bring to the junk yard? I’m not sure if that would have helped but one thing I’ve learned from working on cars on the ground is leverage is hard to come by. Cheater bars go a long way. Another approach in the absence of a cheater bar is putting the closed end of the wrench on the nut you’re trying to break loose and taking another wrench and putting that closed end on the open end of the wrench you have on the nut and using that for leverage. Obviously you aren’t new to this stuff, but with the benefit of me being able to arm chair quarterback that’s what I thought of. Love your content and am excited to see your eventual rear disk conversion on the ek. Edit: and yes, The Mist has probably the most messed up ending to any movie.
