This is one of my all-time favorite covers by Chris Cornell. Fun fact: the reason they're laughing at the very start of the video is because they had just been talking about how Prince hated people covering his songs. Chris then said something along the lines of "in direct defiance of Prince's wishes..." and then started playing. Miss him a lot.

Fun fact: he is my mother's cousin. Never met him myself. But she has a ton of pix of her and him growing up. And lots of stories. Always kinda crazy how she talks about this massive musical legend, and how they just hung out. She also did mention that while she was sad about what he did, she wasn't entirely surprised by what happened.

Obviously I didn't know Chris personally, only through the art he chose to share with us..but his loss...my God. It still breaks me although I'm filled with gratitude he was here and I got to experience his gift. His voice can stop traffic and this cover is...well...I'm crying.

That whole album is amazing. "Say Hello 2 Heaven", "Wooden Jesus", "Reach Down", "Call Me a Dog". One of the best random purchases I made. At the time anyway... Eddie Vedder was an unknown at that point and _Badmotorfinger_ wasn't out yet. On top of that I had no idea who Mother Love Bone and Andrew Wood were. But what a tribute. Beautiful album.
